Faith's top 12 (Inside Source)....

Why does everyone doubt Rohan's abilities?
Is it because he came first in Kicking in draft camp? (77%)
He is fast, effective disposals and has that x-factor that no-one else in the league has.
If every club was at their prime with their best 22 and this draft came up Rohan would probalbly go first. This draft is based on needs. If it wasn't, Rohan would go at Pick 1. And if Rohan is so.... crap? why is he going in the top 10? Think about it before you dis him.

are trying to say tht you think rohan is the best player in the draft cause if you are im sorry but i have to disagree with you
rohan would not go no. 1 trengrove or scully would still go no. 1 because they are the best players in the draft

Thanks for the info FAITH. The level of cynicism on bf drives me nuts. If you have any other info would love to hear it.

WOW....have been bagged big time from BF posters.
The bigest mistake i make is believing anything to do with the crows recruiting pre-draft. The bloke i know always tells me the opposite to what they will do. They never mention any names of players that they are seriously considering, and always gives me names of players who we are linked to but wont go for. Last year i was told Treng and McKernan they really like along with Hurley, and Lisle.
When i quizzed him about Johnstone and Davis at pic 10, he flat out said 'no way, plenty of other players ahead of them'. I just passed on this message to BF and have since been bagged big time. After the draft i asked him why he lied to me and he said he would never disclose who the crows would go for outside of the direct recruiting team. Which is understandable, because they dont want to overvalue that player.
After the draft i was told Davis to crows was always going to happen, while Johnstone and McKernan were backups.
However the info about what other teams would do was 95% accurate.
Eg Port placed a false message in media that they wanted Vickery, but were only really deciding between Hurley and Hartlett.
Yarran was overvalued but Carlton would get him. etc

The info i receive about other clubs though is usually pretty accurate.
Top 7 is settled, next 6-7 is difficult to predict in what order, and then the next 20-25 is too close to separate the players.

I know WC are desperate to get Jetta. Trengove is the best player by far in this draft. Butcher will go between 7-10. Port are one of the most difficult clubs to predict.

Huge talent, from what i am told some mentality issues.
Like a lot of players in this draft, great talent but a question mark on injury or mentality.

I would argue any suggestion of a 'mental' problem....

Yes, Taylor has had a few problems in his past. He was caught up in the wrong crowd for a while there, and did spend some time in jail. But by all reports he has completely turned his life around, is back at school and has totally committed to football.

Like many young players, moving away from home and their family is difficult. But as long as the club has a strong support network, I can't see why there would be any problem.

As for your actual draft, I agree that the top 7 at least is fairly well settled. Although I don't agree with Rohan being so high myself. And it looks like Port are going to the big winners with Butcher slipping....

Was he??? - I thought it went something like this:

Claims source to be a Vic based Crows recruiter... top source mate when the guy he categorically tells you WONT be picked, ends up being picked

Harsh.
Obviously he was never going to tell me who they wanted.
How bout all the other info i have provided?

can someone post up some examples of the stuff FAITH has got right in the past

just interested

Thanks for the info.

I'll be really surprised if they take Jetta at 7. Was terrible for Swan Districts in their preliminary final, is mature age, has only played one season in the WAFL and is extremely shy.

If West Coast really want him they should have packaged a player and pick 22 for pick 16 or 17 because if West Coast don't take him I think he'll slide to outside the top 15.

Port are one of the most difficult clubs to predict.

I believe recent events have helped clarify Port's drafting intentions for the upcoming drafts.

First they upgraded 201cm 20yo forward/ruckman Daniel Stewart from the rookie list to the main list

Second they have now added 198cm 22yo Daniel Bass as an unregistered player to the rookie list, he's a medium-term ruck project who hails from Melbourne, so he has dabbled with Aussie Rules in his younger days.

Port now has Lobbe, Redden, Stewart, Trengove & Bass all 22 & under to help out Brogan

Due to the above I reckon there is no chance in hell that Port will take a ruckman at any of our National Draft picks, 8, 9 & 16. I believe we'll take best available midfielder & key position forward at picks 8 & 9, plus use pick 16 for best available midfielder.

This leaves Port with a Pre-Season Draft pick, around about pick 7 or earlier, to use on a mature, big bodied ruckman from any of the state or country leagues, like the Crows did when they took Ben Hudson. Doing this means Brogan has support from day 1, giving Port time to blood our junior rucks, without the weight of the whole team on their shoulders.

I also reckon Port will take a raw giant kid as a rookie, see if he could make it, or not.

The big thing against you Faith as to believability is that I am sure the clubs haven't even decided who they are taking at the moment. Still a fair way away and a lot of film to be re-watched, reports to be re-read and discussions to be had before things are set in stone.

I would be very comfortable betting that not all of those players will be picked in the top 12 on the day. There are always a few surprises and things change right up to the death. When did word come last year that Rich was falling? In the last week or so speculation started and even then Brisbane did not plan for him to be there when they picked.

This year expect last minute speculation that Morabito is not locked in at 4 and a bit of a smokey in the top 10.

West Coast have their eye on someone else at 7 but with Wirra retiring they have been told they MUST select an indigenous player in this draft. They don't know if they want to take the risk on Jetta surviving to 22 because if they get caught out they might have to select someone they have no interest in.

I would prefer Lucas over Jetta.
I think his draft camp has lifted his credentials abit. However if Lucas is gone I would be happy with Jetta/Butcher/Talia.

Really by who?

Sounds like a complete load of bollocks, how can the retirement of Wirra affect their drafting strategy. If Jetta is selected with pick 7, I doubt it has anything to do with Wirra's retirement.

Rohan will definitely go to North Melbourne, I keep saying it over and over again. He only won't go if they he is taken by a club before. He is rated extremly highly by recruiters and also the kangas drafted 3-4 mids last year, they need X-Factor.

Not sure if the Kanga's will recruit Rohan, Ziebell may just have enough red in his hair to carry out the role. Then again, Ziebell is held together by sticky tape, so they may just need a backup redhead. I think you could be onto something here swans. :thumbsu:

I believe the Eagles thing to be true. I have no proof of this but I have heard similar things. Think about it: West Coast currently have no indigenous players on their main list. If they don't draft any then our enemies will play the race card for sure. It will be all over the Melbourne media: racist eagles snub indigenous talent.

Why wouldn't they try and pick up an indigenous talent with say Pick 22 then. Eg: Troy Taylor
