I know fallout is all about solitude and the lone fighter, but given this game is heavy on the companions...geez a coop mode would be cool. Imagine doing a stronghold raid with a mate...would be grouse

I mean, my game still works and stuff guys...

So, reading this, lots of people wandering around, making beds and crappers, tending to crops...is this like SIMS??? Does it have an endgame objective?

It has a very similar objective to Blacky's motto, shoot shit & don't die.

Only just started my game and new to Fall out... whats the go with building houses and is it worth doing at the start? I thought id be free roaming into the horizon... do I need to build a base or something?

Basically its similar to buying a house in the previous games in a settlement like megaton. Now you build your own settlements, that make their own water, grow food etc etc

benefits are pretty obvious

Game is more Minecraft than Sims. you have to scrap/mine all the resources to build shit with.

Are you enjoying it? It pretty much comes down to that with Fallout- Do what you want to do.

In terms of tangible benefits, the main one I can see is the prospect of having traders at higher levels who may sell you better stuff or cheaper stuff.

I think it's probably a bit easier to get into this mechanic if you've got a bit of experience with Fallout. I personally really want to give people cool, safe places to live in the Wasteland because I've seen how many dicks are out there in previous games. If you're a newcomer the 'care' factor probably isn't there yet, but it will be if you stick with the game in general.
