Freeing the caged animals at the outposts was always fun. Not so much when they have a caged komodo dragon or cassowary:confused: but bears/tigers absolutely run riot and you only need to shoot the wooden cage anywhere rather than a specicfic lock.

I know some of the relics that appear on the map are accessed from caves or holes up to a hundred metres away but there's been a couple that I just cannot find a way to get. (not the type where you blast a door either, just random ones in the middle of a field with no huts/ruins around)
Might have to check out a guide if I choose to get more than 60.

When you're near one, run around for a bit and have a look at your map. A lot of the "hidden" ones have lines of plants nearby which show you where the entrance is. Pretty clever trick, took me a while to pick up on it. Helped me get them all. :)

Place the map marker on the relic and check exactly where it is on your HUD (as when you place the marker it'll show where the relic is, either above, on, or below ground). Then go check your map for any black spots, the black spots will mean there's a cave or opening there that you can go to. Sometimes underwater as well.

I always found getting a grasp on where the relic is via the marker made it much easier to find where I needed to go to find it.

I didn't use any online help for them at all, which is not normally my go.

That's funny, I don't think I ever used the bow and arrow because I found it too hard/inaccurate. Is there a trick to it?
You missed out. The bow is the best weapon in the game! I used it for about 70% of my kills. So fun to use.

As has been said, it's all in the distance.

The signature weapons are so much better than the other ones. Silences modded assault rifle with extra damage ftw.

Anyway just finished the game. Pretty underwhelming ending. The last sequence was pretty cool though.

Really need to back into this. Doesnt really suit my Bruce Willis style gameplay of blow the **** out of everyone.. But I'm making it work! The flamethrower mission was awesome but ****ing hard. I died so many times either bvy running out of gas/ammo or burning. Hahaha.

Ha, try it without the flamethrower. I thought I could be cool and use flaming arrows. They don't work  Luckily I had a stash of Molotovs, which work very well :D

People were asking for the ability to reset outposts so they can get trophies or prolong the life of the game etc.. never thought they'd actually do it but here we are, you can now re-set all the outposts.

New Features and Changes in Far Cry 3

http://forums.ubi.com/showthread.php/753983-New-Features-and-Changes-in-Far-Cry-3
Player feedback is an important part any game’s community. The ability to get first-hand impressions from players and what they think about the product is vital to make a game even more enjoyable. Thanks to the feedback, we are able to expand upon or add to the game experience.

During the games first few months, the Far Cry 3 Team has been collecting feedback from our players; those who enjoy the storyline, those who play online as well as our map makers. New functionality has been requested, and some have suggested improvements to already existing features. So here are some of the features that can be expected in upcoming patches:

Single Player: Ability to Reset Outposts

A big part of Far Cry 3’s single player experience is taking over the outposts manned by Vaas’s pirates and Hoyt’s privateers. These outposts, when taken, offer a safe place to resupply as well as a base of operations when exploring new parts of the Rook Islands.

Taking over an outpost as a player also presents a fun challenge; everything from how to approach the outpost to what weapons and tactics to use. Hence, a lot of community members have requested to be able to ‘reset’ the outposts, so that they can be taken-over again.

Here is how it works:

• After conquering all the outposts and completing the game, the player can reset the outposts by selecting “Reset Outposts” in the gameplay options menu.
• Doing this will reset and make all Outposts hostile again. All incomplete side missions and quests will become hidden. In order to finish the incomplete side missions, you will have to retake the outposts again.

Is there a way to shoot open an animals cage (i havea silenced sniper rifle) wihtout being detected? I think I'm missing something, every time I do it, no matter how far away I am or what bushes I'm in, they sound the alarm and spot me?? Or are they sounding the alarm to help with the killing of the bear/tiger etc?

You need a silencer.

As stated above... I have a silenced sniper rifle that I use to shoot the cages
Sorry, missed that. That's really weird...the only thing that I do differently is shoot all of the snipers first. Have you tried that? Generally I go RPGs - snipers - cages - leftovers.

All good. Yeah I just cant work out whats going on. I honestly don't think I've cleared out 1 outpost stealthily.. maybe the first couple when I was throwing rocks and it took an hour to empty each one. Haha. Even if I shoot the snipers first, someone else sees me or the body and sounds the alarm.. I'm certain Im just doing it the wrong way.
