While this makes sense logically, it's simply not true in this society. It's much more taboo to comment on a woman's weight. Rightly or wrongly, it's not seen as the same when a comment is made about a man.
My son collects the AFL cards and this year they’ve started including AFLW cards. I’ve noticed that the men have the height and weight stats listed while the women have height only.

Probably because it isn't a fully professional league and these people have other jobs.

Just before you do/say anything, give it a thought ok. Use your brain.
Just like the WAFL, SANFL, NEAFL etc are semi professional and most of those blokes have other jobs, and have their height/weight stats published.

You might want to give it a thought before you make smart arse comments, ok?

Yes.

It’s ok to ‘fat shame’ men, but not women.

Another contemporary hypocrisy that’s hardly a revelation.

I'm involved in amateur sport and many of the women involved have low bodyfat. The ones who don't are the ones who eat bad food and drink a lot of alcohol (i.e. lifestyle decisions). Same rule applies to males. I find it strange that so many of the AFLW players are overweight - given they are associated with AFL clubs I'd be shocked if they don't have access to the club dietician, nutritional information etc. It's the elephant in the room - not gonna be any upside in a journo calling an overweight female out though. I think in ten year's time it's just as likely to be a rarity though.
heh.

Richard Krajicek has a crack at it 30 odd years ago. Didn’t go too well for him:

“What Krajicek said--and now wishes he hadn't--was that 80% of the women tennis players were, ahem, "fat, lazy pigs." That was bad enough, but then he made it worse when he was challenged about his comment. Krajicek said he had exaggerated. He said he meant 75%.”

Willie Rioli has to be up there for current players.
Maybe last year, but he is in fairly good shape this season and just needs to get his match fitness back up post injury.
