Racing February Daily Punt: Willy Pike and the Great Sydney Adventure

Victorian provincial programming must be so frustrating if you have a horse with ~68 rating that isn't good enough for the city. They just spam the cards with 58s and 64s and all they can do is accept with big weights.
Yep it's basically left to competing Friday or Thursday nights Pak/Cran
Real lack of bm70s racing.
One I used to be in- Mellors- had to go NSW to.find a suitable race

Just watching the rancid Blue Diamond again and actually an interesting race from a replay perspective even though they are all trash

Winner probably the most kissed on the dick with the run it got which is no shock given how even they are.
Rev M and Jacq probably looked the more deserving winners having to go super wide and come down the quicksand in the middle.
Sebonack had to doge and weave tiring horses all the way down the straight and with more luck would have finished closer
Semillion who looked dead to rights at the 300 kicking on to finish 5th beaten 1.3L showing how rancid the bias was
Counttheheadlights - WTF where these tactics? Dragged straight back to last to find rail (fair enough given bias); but then immediately looks to get off the fence as wide as he possibly can from the 600?
Hafey - jumped well but then jock lets it slide all the way back to 3 last and still sits 4 wide no cover for most of the race?

Not sure what Maher/Eustace thought the plan was to actually try and win

Merchant Prince for the Sires.

Profondo offically paid up for Aust Guineas. Get to the track if you can on Sat to see the best horse in Australia.

Indeed you will be able to watch him on the big screen as he goes around at Randwick (albeit horrendously placed by his trainer)

r.e. couttheheadlights, it seemed to stumble out of the gates rather than being a tactical move

Laughable to see the Sydney Hitotsu - Profondo - now into equal fave Oz Guineas - can't believe we are going to be able to back both Captivant and Pinstripe (the only two that can win) and get a healthy profit. People obviously thinking its the old days when the Oz Guineas was over 2000

Speaking of horrendous all in prices. Forbidden love into 4.50 in the Canterbury?!!! Loooooool. She was $6 against poxy mares on Saturday.

With the doubt over LNR running on wet you just have to have a fun bet on Zaaki all in at 4.50. Yes this is too short for him but I’d still back him to flog a horse like FL over 1300 if he is on an ASM campaign.

Another one for the Monday morning sickos is Mr Brightside in the Blamey - if Zaaki doesn't show there (surely HUGELY unlikely) then the $5 looks a massive price - could see him jumping $3.50 or so on the day.

1300m in the slops far more up Laws of Indices alley. Hard to see not getting a return EW

Nah still hasn’t done enough in oz for mine. Will probs do a top rank and run on for 4th-5th. Zaaki is beating him home with ease even if half fit at WFA
