Fev dumped by his management

So Lynch totally screws his old club with the whole fevola deal, and now when there is nothing in it for them no longer, they drop fev like a hot potato.

Surprised they haven't done it sooner. He heeds none of their advice and is continual bad publicity for the firm by his antics. Have shown remarkable loyalty by an agency to have kept him this long.

Fev needs management which can get him to listen to sense, I'm just not sure this is realistic.

No. They supported Fev through rehab. He gets out and they advise him not to do an interview with The Footy Show straight away. He does it anyway. They advise him that its best you stay in Melbourne and not fly out to the US at this time, but he does it anyway. See a pattern. You can't manage this bloke as, in the end, he'll just do whatever he wants when he wants. You can't manage someone like that and i guess they just cut their losses.

Fevola has done this all to himself.

Not to mention that he also initiated discussions with others behind their back. I was of the opinion that as long as he is off the piss he is fine to have around the club but looks like I was wrong. I dare say it is looking more and more like he's played his last game at AFL level. Only a team such as what the Bulldogs were when they took Hall will consider him. And there's few of those...

How many state league players have managers? Depends on what kind of deal they had but I cant imagine Lynch making much money out of Fev while he's playing VFL.

"Fevola has not yet been paid out in full by Brisbane, although that is expected to come in a series of payments negotiated by Velocity."

I wonder if they will take a full 'cut' for wages meant for the next year or so, now that they wont be managing him over that time.

Lets face it they cant manage him if hes not earning anything

I would say that if Velocity negotiated the payout deal, with simply payment to follow, they are entitled to their cut.

Can anyone explain why it would make good business sense for Velocity to now ignore Fev's (assumed) breach of the management contract and keep him on their books?

Why would they keep him?

He obviously doesn't listen or care to improve his weaknesses, and having "Manager of Brendan Fevola" on your resume isn't exactly a great endorsement any more.

He'd only do more damage than good for their brand.

He's probably not making any decent money so it's not probably not in the best interests of Velocity Sports to manage him.

Management companies make the most money off sponsorship and other contracts rather than the playing contract and there wont be organisations lining up to sponsor him.
Considering Fev needs every cent he can get, forking out the 4-5% of his VFL wage probably isn't worth the return at the moment anyway.

I seem to have missed something in all of the drama with Fev. Has it come out from other sources that he has a drug addiction in addition to gambling and alcohol?? That is complete news to me and may have been missed by all and sundry.

From Blucher...

"We hoped, we thought at the time that he'd made progress… when he was institutionalised, but clearly his actions since then… to come out of a rehab clinic when you're fighting drug and alcohol addiction and depression and all sort of things, and to walk into a casino, I mean it's clearly not a decision taken by a well person."

Lets face it, his management are not saints, they're clearly looking after their own interests so lets quit the talk of them "supporting" him.

They offered him advice on how to get his career back on track (which will ensure they earn more $$$), he did not take the advice, in the process lowering his market value to next to nothing, so Velocity sports jumped ship clutching bags of money.

Not only has Fev failed to listen to the reasonable requests of his management, but he went behind their backs and talked to other VFL teams. So Casey took heat form the Demons by agreeing to take him on, then he turns around and negotiates with other teams. Lets face it, drunk or sober, Fev's a s**t bloke who only cares about himself.

He ****ed the Blues, he ****ed Vossy & the Lions, he ****ed Velocity sports and he ****ed Casey.

He's done, he'll piss away his Brisbane settlement, he will not become a punter, he'll be on 60 minutes in 5 years earning $50,000 for a tell-all story about his career.

Anyone who thinks that you are magicly cured from depression etc is very misinformed. Medication alone takes six weeks to be effective if you are lucky to get right dose first up. But maybe his decisions to do the interviews and go overseas werent the disaster everyone predicted. As for lynch saying how frustrated they are only highlights how little he knows about what fev is going through. Fev is better off without them and maybe he knows that.
As for his brother good on him for sticking by him. If the media treated my brother the way they treated fev at that time i wouldnt be all that happy either. Fev or anyone suffering depression doesnt need babysitting they need someone they totally trust as support.

Can always go for ECT, has some obvious drawbacks, but in the case of Fev would be great fun to watch. They could put it on the footy show.
