I hope it's not the weight of the shoulders affecting the heel but wouldn't it be better to just give him a 1-2 week break.

Let's try not to panic too much at every little thing people.

Fev is fine. An 80% fit Fev is still better than any other FF in the world.

The only real treatment for the heel is to keep his weight off it, so he's obviously doing that at every opportunity. Then give her the old needle on game day and send him out to kick bags and flatten people.

Fev is still in obvious pain with his heel..he started limping after the game saturdya night when high 5ing the crowd

Last night at the player sponsor function he could barely move around the room, and at one stage nearly collapsed and did scream when he knocked it.

With injections he will easily get through game, but i see no point at all in him training.. why persist with him training!!

play him during the first half and at half time if were up by 30+ (big if) then rest him for the 2nd half unless we really need him

Will certainly be something that he carries for most of the season, as it can take up to 3 months for it to mend. If we do happen to get out to an early lead against Essendon this week, we might think about giving him a rest at some stage during the game.

All the mids get a rest during the game, so why not Fevola?

i say let him rest this weekend.

with our form at the moment, we don't need him to beat essendon.

seems like unless he actually gets a couple of weeks to stay off his foot, it will be a persistent problem for weeks (hopefully not months) to come.

A couple of things.
According to Fev post match Saturday:
It only started to get sore towards the end of the game, as opposed to quarter time in the Tiges game. He is on oral pain killers and not injections.

If it isn't getting worse, and gradually improving (assuming it is just bruised) then I have no issue with him playing.....being sore as hell for a few days after, using crutches to maximise the recovery and doing some light training towards the end of the week.

Look at how he played the Lions game. When he needed to he hit the after burners and chased and tackled. His leads are not at fulll steam yet, but this is bringing Cloke and Betts into the game a lot more.

Hopefully in a couple of weeks he'll be back to 100%.

which foot is it? would be a shame if one of our young defenders accidentally stomped on it...this is the risk...just rest him!
Yeah.....like any of your young defenders would get near enough to him to do it.
Shame Hurley is out. Would have been a decent match up.

i hope this is the arrogant attitude of the playing group...but i know it won't be.
