Just wondering what you guys think about this statement.

Tonight in the Victoria V Dreamteam game Fevola showed his superiority over Lance "Buddy" Franklin.

I for one think Fevola proved a very good point, he is the best full-foward (current) in the game, better than Lance Franklin. Therefor i support that statement.

I disagree.

Franklin is currently the better FF because he has been more consistent so far this year, and is on top of the Coleman table. Fevola's superior in his kicking and marking, but you must remember that Franklin had 9 shots on goal. Frightening if he gets his kicking as good as Fev's!

That said though, Franklin must maintain this form and remain dominant enough to win a Coleman.

its a tough one to call. franklin is amazing, but his kicking is woeful. that said, when he is on song he is a scary prospect. BUT he isnt kicking straight atm, so i would have to give it to Fev by a whisker. splitting hairs... dirty curly greek hairs...

Fev is a better kick, no doubt about that.

If you measure key forwards by goals kicked, Buddy is ahead.

Both are guns of the AFL.

How about we measure it by quality of disposal into the forward 50?

For Fev to dominate as he has, with the questionable delivery into the forward 50 he routinely recieves, shows he's the slightly better forward.

Buddy does Fev with conetsted/ Pack marks. Fevs got Franklin beat everywhere else.

i can see this statement inciting some interesting yet monotonous arguements. i would love to see fev match franklin in an agility test...

I reckon that they are a lot closer than most people think...

Fev has buddy shaded in some areas but buddy has fev's number in others...

Once our defence has stabilised and our midfield has matured a bit more, you will see Fev step up a gear and leave buddy behind... for a couple of years at least.

i don't see buddy playing like this for too many years... i've seen this happen to Paul Salmon and Reiwolt when they came on the scene... All three started with a house on fire.. it is physically impossible for a man of this size to move like he does at the age of 25 plus... he will slow down get injuries and will become just a tall forward pinch hitting in the ruck... if he gets a major injury could make him very immobile.. although i hope it doesn't happen...

Fev's will kick more goals the franklin at the end of theor careers.. mark my words...

Fev is a genius and the most talented player i've seen in ages...

Yes he has his off and on field descretions... but you try sitting Einstein in a room full of 10 year olds for the past 5-6 years... would make anyone crazy...

This guy is loved by all fans and should get respected... i knew he was going to win the Alyett.... being saying this to my mates all week... and i put my money where my mouth is too... so couldn't be happier...

Fev's in a good team will blossom....

Great Years Ahead For All Of Us....

I can't ____ing wait................................

From an outsiders view... Fev has copped the physical pounding over the years and been durable. Buddy is 21 and has a dodgy shoulder. See how he is going in 4 years time. See how he goes if Hawthorn go bad too. Fev dominated when Carlton were ordinary.

Theoretically swap teams. Fev at Hawthorn and Buddy here. I'm sure, with such good players around, Fev would revel where as, on the other hand, Buddy, while still going well, might find it harder.

and he scored what 3 goals 6 ? if you ask me fev is 100 times better than buddy franklin. hes a gun , that cant aim properly , its not the first time buddy has missed so miserably against the tiges he has something like 1 goal 7 ? thats crap if you ask me ?

Buddy is inconsistant just as much as fevva he only averages 3 goals a game , for someone so superior ? i think hes not all that superior , because feva is more damaging when he has the ball .

Mate enough said! when a team comes something like 15th and you win the coleman medal than what else can i say

Franklin had 9 shots on goal.

Fev had 8?

The difference was, Fev got the job done.

Anyway, Fev is at the peak of his career and Franklin is at the beginning of his career.

He kicked 4.5, but every week he has this many scoring shots. Despite missing a lot he still leads the goalkicking table - for a 21 year old, that's pretty good. The ultimate question is whether he will be able to maintain it like Fev has.

if fev had the delivery franklin gets week in week out , then imo fev at pick 73 or something takes the cake !.

Buddy is a superstar no doubt about it , having said that , Fev is better than buddy

Carlton fans wouldn't swap Fev for Buddy and Hawks fans wouldnt swap Buddy for Fev. We are very lucky to be seeing 2 dominant forwards running around at the moment, and it is very difficult to split the two. I reckon we should just sit back and enjoy watching two great players go round each week, rather than worrying about who is better.

The only thing that Fev is proving is that when he is off the piss and fully focussed, he is in the elite of the comp!

Fev was excellent last night. But Franklin, based on current form and potential, has to be considered the best FF in the competition. However, last night's game had me thinking - how would Fev go playing in Hawthorn, who are dominant across the park plus having Mark Williams and Jarrad Roughead to take the pressure of him?

Fevola is getting good supply from Judd, but imagine in a couple years time when young guns like Murphy, Gibbs, Kruezer and JR ect improve their kicking.

Fevola showed he could match it with the best last night. Victoria had a better foward line than Dreamteam and Fevola was the stand-out. For everyone saying Buddy is better, i put this question to you, would you rather a player that can 9 shots on goal and kick 4.5 or would you rather a player who can have 8 shots on goal and score 6.2.

I know who i would rather have. People still unable to acknowledge Fevola's hard-work.

When you average 9 scoring shots per game and top the goal kicking, no matter how many points you kick, you're still the best forward in the competition.

Fevola (arguably) had the better game between himself and Franklin, but Franklin is still leading the goal scoring and until/if he drops to second, third, fourth, he will remain to be the best current full forward.

The difference is Fevola has been playing in a poor team in the last 9 years. Franklin is getting much better supply from the midfield at Hawthorn.

I do agree with one thing everyone is saying, Buddy Franklin is consistent.

A consistant point scorer lets look at his goal and point tally for the year.
Rd1:6.3
Rd2:4.1
Rd3:5.4
Rd4:6.3
Rd5:8.6
Rd6:1.7
Rd7:6.4

That takes him to a tally of 36.28. Untill Buddy can get his kicking on target, then it will be well known that he is the best FF in the game. For mine at the moment Fevola is much better.

A big call to say Fev is superior over Buddy, both are fantastic players who played well for their respective teams. At the end of the day does it matter who is really better if they keep performing at the level their respective clubs expect from them?
