What they need to do HBK is start enforcing penalties such as host banning people and banning gamertags/IDs for those with connections that drop out say a couple of times each day.

I had this frustration when playing FIFA 08 and also have the same frustration with Halo 3 (Though it is different issues in that but still Bungie do nothing about it).

They don't do jack shit, there lazy pricks..

There soo lazy that since the game has come out they have had a cbf attitude towards everything..

On the PS3 you have guys who have played 78 games all wins and 0 losses, and there in the top 10..

They don't ban players or atleast they can take away those wins but they don't, it seems as if they don't care..

Not just you bok party, i usually have trouble connecting to matches, often left just staring at the team select screen. Its weird because all of my other games work perfectly online like COD4 + 5, GTAIV, Madden and NHL.. any tips?

Im the same. I dont have too many diffuculties connecting, sometimes I go through a period of like 10 attempts where it returns me to the main screen, but not too bad. However, I find the lag generally terrible, I think I could count on one hand the amount of games ive played that I felt were lag free. Even the tiniest of lag is a killer on FIFA, and I hate it.

Yeah, the lag tends to be a killer. Hurts most (for me) in the online BAP. That mode would be amazing if it was lag free, instead you have to be pushing the button or moving the direction you want to go before you've even received the ball. Makes it very tough to play.

The best thing to do is just use the Aussie lobby and play Aussies, you have the best chance of as much of a lag free game as possible against Aussies.

LOL Donmania :)

This might sound strange but i have become use to the lag soo much because i tend to play players from europe, that when i connect to an australian, the connection is just soo quick, so it takes time for me to adapt..

Anyone experience this?

The lag isn't that bad, but if it's unbearable, you have 5 mins (game time) to quit and you don't get the loss..

So it's not like your backed into a corner when you connect to someone with a shithouse connection..

I know this is the enemy and everything, but PES have stated that their online will be LAG FREE.

Interview stating No Lag online.

The rest of the PES scans are available here, pretty good read too.

Could PES re-overtake FIFA this year? Graphically it very well could've (although the character models look a little smudgy as good as they are) now gameplay (especially online) could start to see PES return to it's spot as king of Soccer games.

I preferred playing PES over FIFA in 09 as well actually and unless FIFA lift their game and make the players more responsive I will continue to play PES.

FIFA looks nice and the amount of real tournaments makes things nice and easy but I just don't feel that I have total control. EA games feel like they are on rails sometimes and it is frustrating even if the move or animation looks nice.

The new PES looks like it will be another winner, an improved Master League and playable online play will be awesome. I only ever had one decent session playing PES online the rest of the time it lags like a bitch.

Brand new screenshots from FIFA 10 showing off a much improved player models. Xavi being the one shown off here.

And a Preview of FIFA 10 that tells us more about the improvements to Manager Mode

There's also a video on the source page with more than 6 minutes of interview/game footage etc.

PREVIEW FIFA 10
All of these improvements are very small compared to the refining of Manager Mode. Manager Mode is the most played game mode outside of online play. Because of that EA wants FIFA 10 to deliver a “Total Football Experience”. They collected a ton of community feedback and used that to create 50 big improvements to the mode. For starters they brought in a new financial system for your club. Instead of relying on sponsors to provide your club with the cash, you will have a Board that will give you two different budgets to work with. Ticket sales and getting sponsors are still important but the Board is your financial backbone. The Club budget will go towards paying transfer (trade) fees, hiring staff and club upgrades.

The Wage budget is strictly to play player fees. When you first start manager mode you will be given a certain budget based on the team you choose. The better or more popular the team, the bigger budget you will have and vice versa. However, your budget can change based on goals that are set by the Board. If you can meet these goals your budget can increase for next season, not meeting them won’t make the Board very happy thus your funds can decrease.

14-authentic-transfers.jpg

Along with this the player transfer system has also been re-worked. Player’s wages are now more realistic, unlike last year, Steven Gerrard and Fernando Torres will be worth a lot more and will be harder to obtain. Signing new players will also be harder because not only do you have to convince the club to release that player, you will also have to convince the player to leave the club. Money wont be the only thing to persuade a player to leave, he will look at how many players you currently have at his position, where your club will be playing and how much your manager can offer him in terms of development. This allows for more realism when it comes to transfers and you will know exactly why a player doesn’t want to play for your team.

On the development stage player growth will now be more accurate. Last year’s title you could easily get all your players to a very high rating in only a couple of seasons. With FIFA 10 player growth is based on three different categories, physical, mental and skill experience. How fast these experience points adds up will depend on how much time they get to play, their opponents and how well they perform. Every player will have a different potential to reach. A younger player will have a higher potential and will increase experience points much faster than an older player who will have a lower potential and who’s skill might even decrease over time. So throughout the season you will have to decide if you want to play the younger player and try to make him into a star or play the higher rated player who’s skill could start declining in a couple of years.

The improved scouts system will help you decide which young player has the most potential. The higher the scout is rated the better he is at predicting the player’s potential. The new pre-season friendlies will also help you figure out who to start and sit. Since there isn’t a practice mode in manager mode you can use the friendlies to fine-tune your line-up.

Another change to manager mode is with the mangers themselves. They will now have less impact on the recovery rate of players so you don’t always have to change the line-up after only a couple of games.

sounds good.
Players getting too good too easily and easy trading are big problems in 09.

I've always been a PES fan and I don't want this to sound bitter but those screenshots look very post-process. There is no way the 360 and PS3 could maintain 22 players at that level of anti-aliasing as the match is going. The only point in the game where the graphics would get even close to that level would be during the cutscenes.

I'm happy to be proved wrong though. I can see that FIFA is improving on previous years at a much greater rate than PES at the moment.

Honestly, apart from maybe a tiny bit of cleaning up and bringing Xavi to the foreground of the shots and blurring the background, I don't see it being that different.

This is a screenshot I took earlier in-game. Now it's not THAT good of quality of a picture (Trust me it is far cleaner, brighter and just overall better looking in-game) but you can see that in-game it would look pretty much just as good as it does in those previous screenshots.

He's scratching his ass

I wish they could bring the crowd into it a little bit more..

Make them stand up and sit down, jump around, louder chants, and a random flare or two lol..

But i wouldn't expect fifa to endorse games were the crowds are popping flares ;)
