I wish they could bring the crowd into it a little bit more..

Make them stand up and sit down, jump around, louder chants, and a random flare or two lol..

But i wouldn't expect fifa to endorse games were the crowds are popping flares

I agree completely.

The crowds have come a fair way from the 2D figures. But they're still crap.

Saying that though, I dont think they'll get a great deal better any time soon. 1. Because FIFA only ever seem to focus on one general area of improvement, for 09 it was gameplay, for 10 it will be Manager Mode (thank god...). 2. I dont think the PS3/360 has the processing power to handle a highly detailed 'crowd engine' as well as the game itself. one day though....

From seeing IGN's PES 2010 preview it looks as if they've worked on the crowd.

BTW an October 2 release looks pretty much confirmed according to a number of sources.

So much so that PES 2010 has gone from 2D crowds to 3D for the first time in PES too.

We've sat down with the game before, but today's big announcement is custom set pieces, which allow players to record a series of player movements and implement them in the course of play with a simple button press. The new training mode should be a fantastic inclusion. Was always wanting to try real free kicks and situations in the arena mode but obviously with the lack of teammates and opposition it has just been a non-factor. Now hopefully it will be better to plan and work on how to take and be dangerous from free kicks this time around.

God i hate it when your taking a corner and you want to put the ball in to the penalty spot area, but none of your players will move there, ussually you can work around it but its a problem... that shouldn't be one.

BTW This is apparently said to be a fairly old build. But it does show off a few new things (Like the 360 dribbling, animations and GK being more aggressive).

I dunno, I mean obviously much of it looked exact to 09. But still there were a ton of subtle changes I could notice. Realistically though was anyone actually expecting this to look drastically different to FIFA 09 in the end?

First thing first was that the menu's looked a lot quicker to navigate, tended to have a bit of menu lag on 09 at times.

Second thing was that the detail on the players faces looks far more improved, this coupled with the Xavi screenshot shows that the players will have far more detail overall.

One thing even though it is VERY minor was that when the ref pulled on the net (Pre-game) it actually reacted. Don't think I have ever seen that in 09, could mean better collision detection and physics in the way the net reacted.

The ball seemed to move a lot less floaty than before and far more realistically. Watch the pass at 1.07 and the cross at 1.26 and the corner at 1.54 and just watch how the ball reacts, moves and seems to feel. Has a much more weighty and realistic look (And hopefully actual in-game feel) to it.

The best thing I saw though was the far smoother animations and gameplay. Some of the passes and how the players took control of the ball just looked far smoother. FIFA 09 tends to have the players slow a lot to take the ball, where as this video seemed to show a player being able to go at full pace while also taking the ball smoothly which allows the whole movement of play to stay at a good pace.

Anyway, that's what I could find.

Yeah, well in all the years I played NBA Live on the PS2 I reckon the menu changed about once or twice in 10 years. Not something that EA tend to change up too much.

I am really happy about the subtle changes in everything else though. Especially the dribbling which looks so much smoother and will no doubt add so much more to the game.

I hope they have a more comprehensive stats sheet for manager mode and in game. i.e Individual stats, dribbles shots, how many times had possession the whole lot.

Agreed.Big problem in 09. Stats are poo.

Also they need to fix up the ranking system. Even if my striker kicks 20 more goals than anyone else or my GK has a 20% save rate than anyone else, they still dont even rate in the top 20 by the end of the season. Explain that EA?? fools.

Rooney is the dominate English striker atm, the choice was obvious. Since goal kickers get the most publicity.

That source says the US release is bumped back but the Euro release is the same. Not sure about Aus, but I'd be surprised if ours goes back. Normally we correspond with the UK, and the US is always a bit later.
