Anyone else read yet?

It brought the great man to life and was clearly written from a true Richmond supporter's perspective. I find a lot of sports bios a bit same-same, but this one made you feel what those times were like living in Struggletown 3121 during the depression, the war and all the years of glory followed by shit!

Interested in other's views because it actually moved me at times - LOVED it!!

Never heard of it to be honest but I like a good read so might have a look for it next time I'm book shopping. Is it an old book?

:) If I wrote it, I'd be telling you!

I know Tony - very passionate tiger. Bumped into him today handing out flyers for the book outside punt road. Haven't read it yet but looking forward to it. Boy can write and it's a great subject. I sat in seat number 17 today in afl members - I'm sure that's why we won.

When was this written?

Where can I get a copy?

It was written this year. I found a copy in K-Mart, reduced to $7 for some reason. I thought "why not?". Couldn't put it down and read it in one hit. Loved it.

I especially loved the way it was based on football, but so many other issues were factored in, such as the way of life in Richmond in the 1920s (the old Squizzly Taylor gang mob days), life in the Depression of the 30s, and life through WW2.

It delves into Jack's entire life. the good times, as well as the bad. A fascinating read, I would think it should be a part of every Richmond supporter's collection.
