The evidence required to come up with a conclusive decision needs to be more... conclusive. Possible touch with fingertips shouldn't be enough evidence to overturn the goal umpires original thought. If they are both unsure let the umpire close to the goal line make the decision. A few decisions recently where nobody except the guy doing the review seemed certain there was enough in it to over turn the goal umpires decision.

get rid of the review system. it worked fine for 100 years before the goal umpires had go pros on their hats
No it didn't. There have been plenty of incorrect calls made by the goal umpires, and one of them had a significant impact on a Grand Final 6 years ago.

The review system is perfectly fine, they just need to sack the idiot goal reviewers like the one in the Bulldogs Port game, who overturned a goal without any conclusive evidence.

Simple. NO change in direction or flight of ball = no review for touched BS.
Im not saying just the review im saying we should accept that even a fingernail on the ball Id still happily call it a goal or mark. Change the rules.

I agree, the rule should state that the ball trajectory should alter to be deemed touched, so there wont really be too many touched calls to worry about, most of the ones that are will be dead obvious.

lately with high definiton replays and goal reviews we have been debating whether a player got FINGERS to the ball.

I say who cares. Unless the ball changes flight/direction it should NOT matter. When a bunch of hands touch the ball simultaneously and then the player marks it, it should be a mark and they have been paying this, dont get me wrong, BUT I hate hearing people complain 'oh he touched it' etc etc. We cant be that particular and Im worried with more cameras and angles things will get ridiculous ... So, should we change the interpretation SLIGHTLY that for a mark or goal to be touched, the BALL must at least change somewhat in its flight, otherwise the fingertip, naked to the human eye, should not matter at all.

i tihnk that's how it should be interpreted but then get to the issue of did the balls flight path change and that's very difficult to tell when it's touched right off the boot.
