Highlights what a moronic stat this is. Hawthorn's 5 premierships is somehow worse than Richmond's 3 because they were only good enough to get to 3 grand finals?

This should fascinate everyone. We’re not even top 😆

So hypothetically a team that plays off in one grand final in twenty years and wins it is better than a team that plays off in ten and wins nine? Give yourself an uppercut and see if you can rattle that other brain cell loose.

All interpretations equally valid, though you have to stretch it a fair bit to come up with that one. The first list is first for a reason

As I said, the stat that counts is winning them. VFL should count until the league officially makes the shift. For fairness sake I didn’t include teams that entered post 1925

If you’re happy with just making appearances then you have your reward. Richmond and Carlton fans prefer winning them but whatever
Melbourne and Hawthorn have won just as many as Richmond, and at higher winning percentage.

But you seperate 20 and 15 appearance. I guess you’re happy rewarding Richmond with the appearances.

Until the league officially makes the shift? They did, in 1990, to AFL.

Probably best you don't include cups after 1990 either then.

I thought 20 was a fair cut off point. Not sure why 😜. Seems fair after 126 years but each to their own I guess

Essendon* and Carlton fans prefer winning them

And then Collingwood fans (because even though they’ve lost a lot more, they’ve also won 2 more)

And then Richmond, Hawrhorn & Melbourne…
