Opinion First Captain under Walsh?

I kind of see where Essendon were coming from when they say they did nothing others hadn't done and its unfair they get singled out. After all Essendon got lesser penalties than us for salary cap issues far more serious than ours. I don't know if we could blame Chapman for this or the time we had to spend on the AO deal, with massive other attacks on our football department(bailey suspension, Rendell fiasco)

maybe keeping people in the club who are acutley aware of we've been threw and know how to learn from it, is the best possible result we could get from what has been hell. The players arn't happy how they dealt with this period.
It's a joke Essendon received lesser penalties, but they still have some coming their way...

However, that distracts from the point that AFC stuffed up big time for Tippett-gate & he supported a CEO who would have been sacked in normal circumstances .... & the fact that the 2 of them have presided over a decade of AFC mediocrity. AFC management has been poor in anyone's language, which makes it more difficult to get the on-field right.

Fortunately we are now turning things around - but it is not being driven by Chapman - you reckon he would have finally woken up after a decade long slumber...

Somewhere in between our opposing observations is a reality. Heads needed to be seen to be rolled, yes. But not every head. However the bolded bit is an exaggeration.

Look at our record once we got rid of Robert Shaw and Tony McGuinness/Chris Mcdermott until Niel Craig run of legs? Its exemplary, umpired out of numerous preliminary finals and finals, constantly subjected to receiving strict decisions from Victorians in positions of power.

I would say 3- 4 years of neglect inside our club. Most noticeable jumping off point is the betrayal of Rendell. We drafted exceptionally well before the expansion clubs had an impact.

If you think we had quality administration at AFC under the Chapman/Trigg period, you have far lower expectations than me.

To blame the umpiring for most of losses is crazy stuff. Sure we got done over for the 2012 Hawks game, but umpiring is hardly a main reason for our lack of success. Complacency of management though...

Would love to see Sloane as the Crows new captain!
Announce Sloane as captain and a contract extension!

Walker forward line captain
Talia defensive line captain

Dangerfield midfield and overall captain.

I kinda think that already happens out there on the field. Admittedly last year it was Rutten and Pods that controlled their respective zones.

little graham why the f* are you calling Walsh a dkhd??????????
Has been partially answered for me. I'm going to stand by my instinct, that i got from his first interview where he walked in the club, smashed up the furniture, then said he'll fix it. The bloke looks up to Williams, has previously been on record as scathing of this club and what it stands for. I'm sorry but if you're judging is based on Mark Williams morals, you sir are a dickhead.

However two years of tormenting the list and tactically taking advantage of Dangerfield, the most destructive player in this league, two years of instilling a military code of vision and loyalty. Getting everyone on the same page...................................Then we hire Bassett.

His style of dickheadedness is very military. I would prefer we move on now, as i never intended to turn this into a Walsh bashing.

To be fair, if you're going to label anyone as a 'dickhead' be prepared for some debate.

So you bash him, then ask no-one debates your bashing - and claim that you never wanted it to be a bashing?

I'm confused.

Thats why i explained what i did. No disrespect to his abilities nor do I feel we'll go backwards. I'm actually looking forward to the ride when we encounter what we normaly encounter. His dealings with advertiser trolls should be very dramatic in the heat of winter.

I don't think he meant dickhead I think he meant campaigner.
No. because players generally have respect for him. I had a good read of West coast boards musings and they tend to agree. Maybe he's learnt from his own experiences of playing football only for the money?

1993,2002,2006,2008 are all finals we got screwed over by umpires. Go back and watch them. Do you remember that home final we qualified for at the "g"?
Yes we won it against the Dees - karma!

We have not been screwed in all those games - open the other eye!
