All they said is that Walsh ruled out van berlo, and now it goes to the players for a vote, channel 9 just believes Walker is the favourite.

That's interesting, it's certainly not the process as it has been described. It used to be a player vote, but we have been told that the coach chooses from the player voted leadership group and the coaches choice is then sent to the board for approval.

Walsh said he was going to make the recommendation to the bboard on the captain, so would be very surprised if it is a player vote. The player vote determines the leadership group.

Be some serious fist pumping on my end if Tex is announced (already have just at the possibility).
Walsh said from the get go it was always going to be a captain, not captains.
Channel 9 seem to have cleared that up. Players will "ratify" the captaincy decided by Walsh....seems like bullshit to me. Doesn't mean Walker isn't going to be captain, but seems 9 hasn't been listening to Walsh.

They hedged their bets by saying "player vote or ratification", indicating that either Walsh ruled out VB keeping it and now it goes to a player vote, or that Walsh has selected someone, possibly Walker, and he's now waiting for the players to support his choice before taking it to the board.
Each way bets.
Love the decision (if true). However, a part of me can't help but think that they didn't want to give it to Sloane because it might put out Danger.

Don't get me wrong I love tex, but as many have argued previously, will the big C change the great Texan from the man we have grown to love?
Not really going to argue with Walshy but my preference would have been Sloane captain and leave tex to be the on field leader that he is.

If one (or both) of Sloane and Danger leave you can bet the storyline will include something about the captaincy. Whether true or not.
Would've probably preferred Sloane but Walker is an excellent decision. Hope this means he doesn't have to change his twitter activity....

It shouldn't, if he's been selected as the next captain, it's because of who he is, not someone we hope he'll turn into.

It does come across as slightly disrespectful for people to also assume that Tex got the job because the Crows didn't want to give it to Sloane and Danger because they could leave. How's about the tinfoil hats come off and we look at the miraculous possibility that maybe Tex is simply the best man for the job?
