I heard that danger didnt really want the captaincy. After his 2014 he just wanted to get back to his best footy! But who knows. Also when interviewed towards the end of the year he never sounded convinced that he wanted to remain captain.

Um he said he was told on the weekend and he had never contemplated that he would be named captain until Walsh said it to him. He asked to think about it for a couple of days. First thing he did was ring his mum and family and friends back in Broken Hill to discuss it with them. This was all on the 5AA interview last night, so don't know where you got the he was told 'before the break'. Walsh didn't make his decision until last week.

Ran into him at a mutual friends business, was very brief so didn't really have time to dig for dirt on the playing group, I just asked when it all come about, he seemed quite enthusiastic about the decision.
