Fourth Test team

Handscomb got 2 tests so hardly a block of tests...Of course if you mean his first stint where he averaged more after 2 tests than Marnus even got close to in total runs for his 2 tests

Finch has been dropped after 3 poor tests where 1 he was looking alright before getting hurt...

You obviously have a massive hate of Finch and Handscomb, suprised Harris has escaped your rants

As for his awesome technique, how come it doesn’t make runs? All this players you hate plunder state attacks, he can’t even do that!
Everyone (especially vics and South aussies) has to perform instantly but crabs from wa and nsw like khawaja, starc, voges, okeefe, and the marshes get to play until they accidentally succeed

This obsession with an all-rounder is killing this team. Guys like Keith Miller dont just fall out of the sky, you know.
I've said it before, Flintoff emotionally scarred the entire Australian cricket culture. He should be getting kickbacks from every other team for single handedly removing us as a relevant force in cricket for the foreseeable future. We are down with Sri Lanka, new Zealand and the West Indies for a while.

the current selection philosophy harkens back to the desperate search for a spinner post warne, when they picked white as a spinner when he wasnt even bowling himself, and destroyed what could have been a reasonable lower order batting career. They are visibly clueless, desperate, and playing extreme favourites, and it is ruining careers.

i wouldnt be surprised if poor marnus is being sacrificed as a way to shield marsh. what better way to claim marsh is the best all rounder than to put a bowling all rounder at 3 and go 'see we told you' when he averages 20. You'd say it was a crazy conspiracy if it hadnt happened multiple times already.

Really, with Handscomb and Marnus coming in for this game, you need to give them the rest of the summer guaranteed in the spot to actually give them a chance to try and cement a spot. We keep chopping and changing so often, I'm not sure the players really know WTF is going on and where they stand (barring Shaun Marsh who seems guaranteed regardless of performance).
To bring of Marnus, bat him at 3, then drop him if he fails just destroys the kids confidance, impacts the overall team balance and just confuses the f#$k out of everyone.

They have made their bed with this team, they really need to back it in.

You think lead boots might be able to hack a few runs with his ridiculous technique against poor opposition like he did against Pakistan a couple of years ago?

I find it galling that Travis Head is the highest run scorer for Australia. Has some ability and shows that he can build an innings, but just can't help himself playing the most ridiculous shots. Some of those innings he has played are pure fluke luck, nicks and chunky outside edges beating fielders all the time, and constantly playing the ball in the air.
How can Travis Head get a gig in front of Patterson? I just don't get that either. Head does have the shots but is liable to a brain fade that isn't something a test batsman should be subject to. He is a short form player.

And South Africa where he averaged over 50! You remember the series, Mitch Marsh was useless as always averaging 13 whilst Voges had his career ended. Maybe that’s why you hate him so much?

Leave Voges alone, he averaged more than Brad Hodge and Ponting.

agaisnt the west indies and new zealand. voges stats are:
Eng: 5 games, 2 50s, ave 29
SA: 2 games, ave 7.5
SL: 3 games, ave 20
NZ: 5 games, 2 100s 2 50s, ave 99
WI: 5 games, 5 100s, 4 50s, ave 542

Stat padder and list clogger of the most extreme kind. Remove the bunny teams and he averaged 20 from 18 innings. But go on, keep telling us how bad Finch (ave 28 in an unfamiliar position his state doesnt even put him in) or handscomb (ave 39) are. **** mee, even M.Marsh averages more against everyone but voges bunnies, and he is a complete spud.

lol you went to all that effort for an obvious joke post.

fair enough, my bad, but there are enough people who argue voges was worth his place
The thing that annoyed me most about Voges is that he was specifically brought into the side to score runs in England because of his county experience and he certainly didn't set the world alight doing that.

Don't mind that first side.

Not sure about Mitch Marsh in England though. Surely it's time to move past him for a while.

Or Burns...with that fish outside off technique...

So we're going to ignore form, recent performances and prior test experience because of potential questions over his technique? Thats just ridiculous.

If we're not going to pick players to England because of a questionable technique flaw over the above, we might as well not send anyone over at all.

I wouldn't be in any rush to pick Burns in England. Renshaw for me and he had a monster of a county season last year to boot.

Personally I don't know who I'd pick in our top 6. I might actually go young, and pick Pucovski or a Sangha type (maybe even both).

Why are they hesitant to pick Wade? You could argue that his poor batting last time in the test side may have been the pressue he was under with the gloves. Him not having to keep will release all that and he could do well. Things couldn't get any worse really.
