Close to the form team of the comp if you ask me.
Should've beaten the Pies, and we'd be 4 in a row.
No pitchforks out at the moment.
Kudos to Justin Longmuir, kudos

Best "close" win in a while, even better than Sydney away last year imo. We didn't have to rely on a bad kick after the siren this time.

Pos: The son of a gun Bolton going to the middle once the rain started pouring changed the game.
Johnson had one of his best games, ironically because he was under immediate pressure a lot and didn't have time to overthink things.
Brayshaw just inspirational when a lot of players were losing their heads.

Neg: Frederick can't crumb, can't get a joe the goose goal with his pace, can't apply pressure. Compare with Bruce who half a dozen times crumbs and corrals the ball in heavy traffic. Dunno what he's there for.

The nepos having a word with the AFL clearly helped their free kick count.

Did I hear Lynch at the end of the game saying Gold Coast got back into it in the second quarter with a 9-1 free kick differential?

Felt about right.

Wagner was very good to my eye. His pace and impact at the man in a contest really broke open some loose ball for us, brought fumbles from GC.

Johnson with a tackle we absolutely needed.

Bolton with a strong defensive work rate wins us the game.

Murphy Reid showed his class with clean hands in the wet.

Looked absolutely miserable out there. I liked Jackson as a mid in the first half. We will get more of that when Darcy can actually move.

Good job Banners...the pitchfork were out and ready if we lost, even though the goal on the line after it, was worst defending..

Last quarter involved in crucial score involvements/fwd entries. Did his def job on his man

Allows Wagner stay in midfield and would of had bigger impact if we took safe Aish option

Everything we did paid off!
Big credit to JLo:
1. We are much better in the wet.
2. We are much better in Q1s.
3. We are much better at handling close finishes.
4. His Fyfe/Darcy selections were winners today.

I'm loving my humble pie. More please.

Seeing Young in the rooms... can't wait to see what we will look like with him in the side!

Have a chance to get a strong run on from here.

Early - Chappy, Jackson, Andy, Switta and Clark very strong.

Botlon was a game changer on a number of occasions today. Went into the middle in the third and momentum swung.

Even the choice of Fyfe as sub worked. He won a lot of contests in the fourth. His handball through traffic was perfectly weighted to Jackson. I have missed his sure hands. So good having a genuine legend of the club run around again.

Luke Ryan dug in through the second half and won or halved a lot of contests at key moments.

Andy - he is a star. I love him as captain. So many big moments throughout. Brought Caleb and the mids with him.

I couldn't be happier for Wags! The team seems to love him and he does all the basics so well. Hard as nails with a burst of speed. I am loving his season.

I mentioned that we have two of the ten most damaging players in the league in our team. I think we could make an argument for Young when fit as well. Jackson and Bolton... Dominant. Levels above what others can do on the field in their own way. We get to watch them for years to come!

That's a big win

Looked to me we were dialled in from the get go.

If we make finals and its tight i don't trust Bailey Banfield whatsoever.

8 years in an AFL system and he still makes bone head plays.

That 50 gave the suns a sniff and the consequences would have been enormous.

Very gutsy win. Had to wrestle back momentum after Suns started dominating in the middle. Bolton is a star, absolute gun on ball and forward. Going to be very enjoyable watching him in purple for the rest of this decade. Jackson was effective wherever he played, handled Witts very well. Brayshaw was immense and pretty clean considering the conditions. Cox blanketed King very well, Wagner continues his good form playing around the ball more, and it was great to see Fyfe in purple again. Had some nice touches and provides a big body. Needs to give Ras some advice for the gym though
