Maybe I'm just salty but this whole notion that West Coast were the better team and should've won if it weren't for the injuries is just such bs? If they were the better team they would not have been down 4 goals for the large marjority of the game where they had all their players fit.

The first quarter was even, the second quarter we dominated 4 goals to none, and the third quarter which they supposedly dominated was dead even up until the last 2 minutes (with a 10-0 fk count), and even then was only 3 goals vs 1. Their bench wasn't decimated until the start of the fourth.

I'm not saying we were guaranteed a win either, but the commentary that west coast were far and away the better team for the majority of the game is just factually wrong.

I look forward to the unbiased coverage in The West.

They had a crack at ‘No Action Jackson’

So, I’d imagine they’ll balance it out by showing how much money is sitting on the pine until the bye for the Eagles.

No Nic, Shuey, Yeo, McGovern, Cripps to name a few. That’s a lot of $$$ not playing.

The truth of it is that 99% of AFL players, could not have completed that flip.

Envy is what it is.
They reckon that all Freddy should be thinking about after kicking a goal to put us up 41 against our cross town rivals for a much needed win is how bad eagles injury crisis is. And that bc of that it was incredibly disrespectful and poor taste. As if Freddy would give a flying **** abt what’s happening over on the eagles bench.

Ironic
[/QUOTEty
I love that this 🛎️ end still here. They can invade our board, quote us on theirs freely. I can’t even react on theirs 😂. Bunch of utter snowflakes aren’t they?
Sonny, lol.

Brillant at ducking, flopping and drawing dodgy frees with the home crowd giving weak umpires plenty of encouragement.

Even the commentators called it when he initiated high contact running head first into a stationary McGovern.

It happens when good players get over 30 and they start dropping away. Not a very sustainable tactic.

Anyway. Enjoy the 4 points.
You do know that west coast at one point had nearly 1000 more free kicks over a ten yr period than any other team and that was mostly at home .Look it up it's a fact .You blokes are sour because the AFL clamped down on it and brought you sore losers back to earth.I think half your supporters think it's a good given right to get payed a shitload of frees.

Even though it wasn’t, I hope it was disrespectful

**** them, they’re not your teammates

I don’t know what Liam Henry is but right now he’s tracking to be SPS 2.0

My god, Serong’s inside 50 kicks. 3 of them on his right boot.
Henry had a day largely to forget yesterday, where a lot of things didn't come off. He may face the axe, he may not. Either way, he should be fine. The foundations of his game are solid and he's developing into a crucial role.

In fact his game yesterday was illustrative of what the team was looking to do (and the nature of his game). We were obviously looking to have more dare in our game yesterday.

Henry went for some ultra-aggressive passes early. He wasn't afraid to take on the opponent to draw opponents and open up options. His running patterns also often have him there ready to mop up a mess, meaning he'll be operating under pressure (especially if we're upping the dare factor).

His goal kicking is something he should rectify quick smart, but really it's a relatively easy fix and the coaches should be on to it. The fact that he always slides it across the face shows that his stance is too open. He can close that up by aligning his right shoulder with the right goal post as he starts his approach.

Lol stop embarrassing yourself and the supporter base now.

So much talk that the derby is Fremantle’s grand final but going by the eagles posters who continue to come onto the Freo board it’s obvious this one hurts a lot for you.

It’s not our fault you believed the media hype and genuinely thought WC turned the corner after beating GWS. As much as you try and deny it you had 4 30 years old playing and over 900 games more experience. As for your injuries maybe have a look at your list profile and fitness regime.

I love how you say ‘easy fix’. I mean I agree, yet he continues to kick at goal like a scared U16 amateur.

Kicking a ball straight should literally be one of the easiest things to do for any AFL player. I get anyone can miss on their day but we honestly ALL KNEW he was missing.

That says something doesn’t it.

he’s in his 4th year now. How much more time does he get to fix those errors? Young, serong, Freddy all in the same year and look miles ahead of him in almost all aspects of the game.

I wanted Henry to work out more than anyone but it’s come to a point where it just doesn’t look like clicking for him, at least not with us (I fully believe he’d reach his potential in a second if he moved to another team for no reason other than it feels dockery ).

Would love to be proven wrong but I feel like he’s had enough time to show something.

Are there good goal kickers who struggle to make the distance? Just makes it so much harder if the ball is going to fade and have no pace on it.

I'd take Matt Deboer 35m out on a 45degree angle over Henry ATM

My highlight of the game was after Hewett missed his set shot and Ryan got stuck into him, Darling who was next to it, looked at the second gamer and turned his back and ran off

If that was any of our players I would be disgusted

It’s funny that WCE and the west were pushing this idea that they were playing a team of kids. On the weekend they had 900 games more experience than us and an average age of 26y and 100 days which was almost 18 months older than our team.

They say they are rebuilding but they play dads army. And that’s not even taking into account they wanted to play some other older players like niknat. I think WCE are still in a delusion they can “surprise everyone”

Also Darcy. If you’re winning 52 hitouts, you’d want more than 18 to advantage.
No point just hitting it nowhere when you have such an advantage in there with size.

There was weird juju about this game, like the footy gods demanded a human sacrifice but instead of injuries crueling our season like in bygone years, that bad luck transitioned to the eagles. The footy gods took what they wanted and only one side was blessed.

Id take my left foot over Henry. He wasn’t kicking from 50m. It’s amateurish. He’s not a penetrating kick but if the whole stadium knows you’re not going to kick it from 30m out slight angle then it’s time to put in the work.

I’m not saying ram it home, but stop chipping the kick like you’re trying to pass it to the goal umpire. That particular play was frustrating because we had about 5 guys out and we chose Henry.

I like what Henry brings, but this is a make or break season and yesterday was borderline career defining in all seriousness. He can’t keep making howler errors. His first 2 weeks was good, so he deserves a run at it, but another performance like yesterday in next 2 weeks and he’s dropped for sure. He may even get dropped this week.

First quarter was even, we smacked them in the second quarter.
thought we controlled the first big of the third and missed a few then they got on a roll. Midfield we looked ordinary and they took advantage.

the hand shandy they got from the maggots in the second half was something else.

Now that Dad’s Army is breaking down they won’t even have to tank to get Harley Reid.

Ginbey looks like a goer, Long is good and I’d give my left nut for Oscar Allen, don’t see much else their for them tbh…

they need to get rid of the geriatrics but they’ll be too inexperienced and will get flogged for a few years.

was good to be able make Fatty and Barrass look ordinary with good ball movement for a change

**** Em. If Frederick wouldn't be risking time on the sidelines I'd be more than happy him flipping the middle finger to their cheer squad instead.

Their fans deserve everything that is coming.

He should have done a flip for each injury they had. In front of their bench

  • serong was exceptional, how good were some of his inside 50 kicks. beautiful work, we needed our midfield leaders to stand up and bring a good performance and he certainly did
  • JL with some good changes allowing switta/aish etc more mid rotations. switta is seriously damaging, we need to get him involved as much as possible
  • freddy had a brilliant game as well, pushed up higher and got involved, used his pace well. our best games are when we get heavy involvement from our small forwards evidently
  • clark was one of our best in the first half, his defensive efforts are underrated and he brings a lot of dare with his runs and kicks
  • hughes i thought had a terrific game, had maybe one or two dodgy handball but otherwise was pretty good with his disposal
  • good to see jackson impact the game well, hopefully it continues

  • yeh wow henry had a shocker. not even 30 games in yet though, give him a run and see if he bounces back next week, i still have hope.
  • midfield still has some worries, especially early, kelly and shuey were running rings around us. lets see if johnson can add that big body to it
  • pearce was dreadful
  • think hes injured now but chapman... i dont think were getting enough out of him in that backline. too skillful and talented to be 4th or 5th fiddle back there. hopefully theres a future midfield spot for him?

Adam Simpson's face when Sonny got that first free really tickled me. Like his captain doesn't do the exact same thing every week.

Also, thrilled to get the win. Monkey off the back. Faced a storm of negative press during the week and responded.
Plenty to work on, but, I'll take it.

So f***ing happy for Jackson. Thought he had a really, really good game and if he clunked a few more marks it would've been an incredible game.

Sean. Too big. Too strong.

Switta <3
Sonny <3
Caleb <3

Bring on the Crows.

If you can’t be happy after a win like that you shouldn’t be a supporter

Glad to get the win, but not convinced we played well. WC running out of legs in the last quarter because they had no rotations made us look better than we were.
