oakley and weinstein the writers of seasons 3-10 are the best writers in animation history

Conan O'Brien was a writer for Simpsons season 3 and set the direction for many years after he left. Futurama has been brought back based on DVD sales (similar to Family Guy).

I can't pick. Both shows are clever and funny. Homer = greatest TV dad. Bender = greatest TV robot.

And the best thing about them is minimal "uncreative" interference from FOX execs who have killed many shows. See a show called Titus for example and season 3 (last season) was heavily influenced by the execs.

Futurama was axed due to it becoming more popular than the simpsons, which they couldn't have happen because the simpsons still had a few more seasons to go.

I would say Simpsons. But Family Guys destroys them both. And South Park is pretty damn funny too.

If you are forced to consider all episodes then Futurama.

However really I'd have it : Old Simpsons (season 10 or earlier) > Futurama > daylight > Family Guy & South Park > New Simpsons.

That said Futurama has better characters - especially outside the main characters -Zapp, Lrr, Morbo beat any of the Simpsons 'non-Simpsons' characters.

The Simpsons manages to (or at least used) have humour on multiple levels, so it appealed to almost everyone. Futurama was less slapstick, so I've noticed that it doesn't seem to rate much with people who, let us say, are less then stellar in the IQ department.
