Ooh that's interesting. Wonder what the lump sum is going to beThe Veterans Allowance was abolished at the end of 2016.

Also we are already paying him $800-900k. We only need to come up with $300-400k more which the cap increase should allow without much fuss.
We have alot of older players to go at the end of the season. Plenty of money will be available.
What if it's a 3 year deal?

On a three year deal you run into existing limitations within your TPP then you're competing against a rivals superior salary cap. Not that I think the 3 year deal will ever happen so my points irrelevant other than to point out the amount of free cap space sides that have used the banking mechanism will have in a year where the salary cap will increaseThen the same principles apply. Money isn't the issue for Freo, it's if Fyfe genuinely wants to leave.
I reckon 6 yrs freo will do ignore I think gets to 7-9 crazy Buddy type deals then we might have to pull out. It's odd to me that a guy with two broken legs recently hasn't signed for security yet but I'll take him at his word for another few weeks before being a sceptic.
Nope. The club is in a good position - provided he truly doesn't want to leave.
I firmly believe if he hasn't signed by end of month then he is gone, there is speculation now, he said he'd sign if things became distracting.
I am now 5% worried, I was 0.000001% worried on Monday morning.
Lol who's Lowry? He won't re-sign until round 13-14. Could be earlier but most likely then.
Fyfe is staying 99.999% sure about that. Fyfe has a huge amount of influence at the club.
lol just lol @ Defacto and all his cronies that have infested the board. Once again Saints supporters proving to be the greatest scrubs since Lebum James, and Fat boy Lowry.
The St Kilda football club will go home empty handed after hitting on every guy/girl at the club. Ameet Bains could learn a few lessons from Big Dick Lloyd.

http://www.afl.com.au/news/2017-05-02/fyfe-odds-in-freos-favour-lyon-declaresYou know about the banking mechanism right?Be interested to see any data you have on that.
Reason I ask is that we've been throwing close-to-1M contracts at various KPPs for the last 5 years without success. So i'm somewhat leery of the idea that we wouldn't have the capacity to match a high value short term contract.
Reality is if the saints deal is a long term one which it should be. It means any club could match. It's just a matter of if they want to which freo will. Not that I think he leaves
The only way the saints out bid anyone is if it's a short term deal. Due to the banking mechanism which doing some quick sums an extremely conservative estimate would have us 600k clear of any other club per annum for 2 years. Reality is given we are only paying 95% of the cap we should have at extremely conservative estimates 1.2m p.a. of spending money. Reality is it should be considerably higher than that for 2018 and 2019 given we've been preparing for this for the last 6 years including front loading contracts. So I would guess wed have near on 2m to spend in 2018 and 2019
Of course I'm talking about the offers made prior to Fyfe selecting the one he wants I.E. the negotiation process that's going onA player can only accept one offer from an opposing club.
You know about the banking mechanism right?
No one knows to answer your question. Other than media reports on the matter. As in banking the unused 5% of TPP for the next year? Sure.
I'm asking what specific evidence you have that St.Kilda have a significantly greater capacity to pay player(s) over the next 3 years than Freo. Because as far as i'm aware none of it is public.
I'd say we have just as big a war chest, with the added factor we already have 600k or so dedicated to Fyfe so we're starting ahead financially tooAs in banking the unused 5% of TPP for the next year? Sure.

Didn't realise this was the St Kilda board...
Just a note on cap space. Does it surprise anyone that Sandi is an unrestricted free agent which means he isn't in the top 10 players at the club? He's probably our 2nd most important player, I guess a low wage still beats mowing lawns but maybe this shows we do still have a decent amount of cap space.
