Re: Superbowl Betting

Hester on first play of the game ;)

Depends on the Toss then doenst it ;)

Colts receive they take it down and score.

Bears receive... KR TD, haha

Re: Superbowl Betting

what is his price?

not sure, not really a betting man

but he did it to St. Louis, we were up (not sure exactly of the score), Rams drive 80+ yards in 7+ minutes to take the lead, next play Hester re-gains the lead

hard to imagine it for first TD. defenders are going to be so amped up I dont think they would get tricked into... or let him slip through. Like you could argue it the other way but I tend to think those kind of things happen when its 'unexpected' or the coverage isnt prepared 100%. Its one day they will be.

Agreed, my first post wasn't to be taken too seriously, will be interesting to see if they try many squib kicks since they got burnt against the Pats

Yeah I realised but then again I fully respect what that guy can do and how average the Colts are on coverage. Its one of those things like their run D though that has got so much coverage it will be so much better now you'd expect.

Re: Superbowl Betting

Don't totally dismiss Bernard Berrian for first touchdown, Rex should and most likely will start slow, but he still likes to air one deep early to see if he can catch them off-guard, it happened a couple of times earlier this year, or he'll try and air it deep if the first few drives ended TD-less

Yeah I agree, they'd be both cautios at getting it to him and pumped at tackling him when he does get it, we'll hafta wait and see what happens

You know I do dismiss him because he is the #1 big play guy... they will give him so much cushion early it will just not be possible. I dont think the colts will let that happen at all in the 1st half. I think of the Bears season and the only TD passes you ever see are to Berrian. Something has got to give... someone elses number might get called but I dont see Berrian getting over the top of coverage until maybe late in the game.

Re: Superbowl Betting

All it takes is for one lapse of concentration early and it could still happen, who knows, big play guys have had TD's early in SB's before

Desmond Clark is a little under-rated, if they're gonna give Berrian a big cusion Clark is good enough to exploit the holes.

Spot on. I think I'm going to get on Rhodes ($16)...I think thats a bargin. His carries have really picked up in the playoffs and has busted some great runs. Benson at $10 is also worthwhile, Jones has had big games but he didnt get a carry for a while in the last game?... and Benson sees goaline action.

Utecht caught my eye and I might go him... if they change him to being from Indy!! haha. Wayne & Clark... not Harrison purely for the Berrian reason of expectation and hype that they will be the ones to make the plays.

Re: Superbowl Betting

Wouldn't put money on Hester for first TD...

Superbowl MVP though... I'd be tempted...

No, I'm not sure if I'm serious yet or not, but I am kind of tempted.

resist temptation!! haha

Manning is like 1.90... I guess all he has to do is play half a good game and win and there is a fair chance.

Any other player is a good one to take. A guy gets an interception/fumble forced or two...

Re: Superbowl Betting

Indianapolis -7.0 @$2.00 ($10)
Game total under 48.0 @ 1.91 ($10)
Total Passing Yards for Rex Grossman over 217.5 @ $2.50 ($15)
Total Rushing Yards for Thomas Jones under 75.5 @ 1.83 ($10)
First TD Scorer - Ben Utecht @ $41 (+20% bonus) ($5)

Thats my flutter.

If Grossman throws for "over" 217 yards passing (as in 220-ish), he'd be in consideration for MVP and Bears lofting the Lombardi trophy. Not as stats per se, but in the context of this game. He would only be expected to throw around 120 yards. So if he breaks out passing 220+, it would be a situation where the Bears are winning, controlling the field with lots of short and mid range yardage, and he wins MVP.

If Grossman throws over 300 yards, I'd imagine it would be a 'come from behind' type of game where both Manning and Grossman are over 300 yards and both teams score high.

Re: Superbowl Betting

Although even Hester himself has some doubts over this happening:

http://www.superbowl.com/news/story/9968501

"I want to stay low-key," he said. "I don't want to be the guy people talk too much about. I want to stay quiet and sneak up at the end of the game. That's the way I like to do it."

Maybe he's downplaying it to boost his price up for the benefit of us punters :thumbsu:

My line of thought is they will be playing for behind and will have to throw. 217 yards being a modest target

I'd definately agree here. Grossman may test the Colts when they have 8/9 in the box and maybe that's 60+ yards just there on one play. I guess he'll have 12-15 completions and be around 230 if the COLTS get on top. Best of luck on ya flutters Danielz.

Some unusual Super Bowl bets

Which team will use the coach challenge first?

Billy Joel singing the national anthem- over/under- 1 minute 42 seconds

Which team will have the shortest field goal during the game?

Which half will have the fewest points scored?

Manning pass attempts...o/u 36

Points- who will get more...the Colts in the SB or LeBron james in the Cavs game?

And so it goes.....
