Schofield on Gilbee.:thumbsu:

Dont want to lose Schofield, seriously. Him playing a defensive forward means Selwood can be released as a ball winning midfielder.

Great win, havent seen that much intensity from us for a long long time. Contested footy at its finest.

McKenzie had another ridiculous game... That sick smother, which gave us enough of a buffer going into the last, was great.

Plays with heart, but at least he has some obvious talent to back it up.

That was brilliant!!

Was not expecting that at all..

Awesome stuff - I only pray that we have a decent crack like that for 4 quarters against the hawks this week otherwise it could all count for nothing again.

If we lose but play like that you dont mind as much.

Maybe last week was the one off not the Port game after all??

Is it just me or does it look like Masten is suffering from ostietis pubis?

He couldn't even walk properly?

If he doesn't I have grave concerns about him becoming a quality player.

Great 4 qtr effort by the boys.

He had 10 to half time.

He also was in and under, hard at every contest, tackled well and kicked a goal. I was just asking if you were one of those guys who looks at total stats alone and then makes assumptions.

If you didnt notice Kerr in the first half frankly you dont get football.

Apologies if that offends you.

When I posted it was half way through the 2nd qtr and he had 6 touches. For an elite midfield like him it wasn't enough. Ended up have 29 touches and was close to being BOG.

It's all good mate, I wasn't offended.

I hope so too although I don't think we will win too many away from home. If they have a real crack like they have done for 3 of 4 games this season then I'd be pretty happy.

Well done boys, schofield on gilbee great effort,McKinley showed what he can do,Kerr had a 4 quarter effort there r to many to mention but basically our whole midfield played well let the forward and backline do its thing and we won, great effort.
As a side note do we still think Worsfold can't coach this side.......i think not!

Totally agree - I dont think we should eventalk about finals until (if) we are at least 10 wins.

Happy with guys like Staker and Embley this week but the true test is away matches.

Hope Glassy is ok coz we will need him next week.

Was awesome to see Brett Jones have a good game and that bit of play near the end where he attacked theball against Giansiracusa was great.

Great 4qtr effort. Looks like the guys are starting to help, utilise and realise just how important Kerr is.
How good is Wirra? Seriously he is as important as Glass.

Umpiring was questionable at best.
The biggest question being why were they wearing yellow:confused::confused:, our predominant colours are blue and YELLOW, a quick look at one side of the jumper is completely YELLOW.

But all up awesome effort that we need to repeat on the road.:thumbsu:

Kerr was held to just eight touches in the first half but, just like he did against Port Adelaide a fortnight ago, tore the game apart with a scintillating third term.

8 touches to half time?? Thats not good enough, unless he was tagging Daniel Cross and he only had 5 touches.

Very happy with the win but we still made so many skill errors. Cox's efficiency must of been way down, poor bloke does need someone to step up and give him a hand though.

The game was an improvement but its still not enough, both wins at home the opisition plays far worse then they're average game..

I look at the small things in a team and the pleasing signs I saw was the way players stood up for each other, were actually excited about kicking goals and ran to each other when they kicked a goal, laid a great tackle, smother etc. Now that's a team you want to be playing in.

Staker has his share of knockers and probably rightly so, but those tackles with intent were great to watch.

All in all though, a great, contested game of football and congrats to the doggies for playing a great, contested style of game as well.:thumbsu:

Mitch Brown was really impressive today too I thought. Loved his aggression around the contest and composure with the ball.

I agree, loved his aggression all day, it is what we need, he was regularly throwing his body around letting others know he was there, great to see..

Well done played well!

Thought it was like the mid 80s for a minute with the Crowd umpiring the game!

Well done Wirra great comeback.

Here is a great sum-up of the game from Wayne Schwass:

LAST week West Coast was embarrassed by St Kilda, losing by a whopping 97 points and forcing John Worsfold to publicly question his players’ character and commitment. A humiliating result blended with the coach’s stinging comments put every Eagle player on notice as they prepared to tackle the Western Bulldogs at home on Sunday.

Going into the match I’m sure the Bulldogs would have prepared themselves for a fired-up Eagles outfit playing in front of a parochial home crowd. But on paper and form many pundits – myself included – doubted that West Coast version 2009 had the four-quarter stamina to challenge the Dogs. How wrong we were.

It was a brilliant performance, a 33-point win that would have pleased everyone from the coach to the supporters. It was as much about intent and commitment as it was skill and ability. It was as much about Kerr, Cox, Embley and Wirrpanda as it was about McKinley, McKenzie, Brown and Schofield. It was a gritty performance full of the ugly stuff that coaches love. Tackling, chasing, harassing, pressuring, hunting in numbers and outmuscling their more fancied rivals.

It was reminiscent of the Eagles of old. They were bold, brave and courageous in every aspect of the game. They were challenged individually and they responded collectively.

Full sum-up here.
