ESSENDON BOMBERS

I mean, its technically a win. Not much to get excited about other than 4 points, Kyle Coleman and a handy debut from that Tsatas kid.

The game was far more heart-stopping than it had to be, the Bombers seeming to be in autopilot for most of the match, with West Coast inexplicably hitting the lead late. Luckily old-faithful himself, Dyle Longfark, came to our rescue, after some (allegedly) absolute spud who apparently never does anything good won a handy clearance out of their arse.

Transition defence continues to be a problem, only now our defenders are bending under the pressure and our transition attack game has been halted. It falls squarely on Brad Scott and the team to find one last pivot to finish the last 3 weeks of the year.

Win out, we make finals. Play like we did last week..... when is the draft on again?

..... I suppose it beats losing, eh?

Norf Melbin

I honesly had to go and look back to see when they played.
Name a more anonymous elite sporting organisation in Australia, including the A-league teams..... I dare ya.
But in all honesty Norfies had a great first half against title heavyweights Melbourne in foreign territory. Unfortunately they couldnt maintain the rage and the much more fancied Melbourne came crashing over the top. Norfs midfield looks like it has some great potential coming through, and Nick Larkey looks like they have somehow managed to clone Drew Petrie. But unfortunately (for them) it is all in spurts at the moment.

Alistair Clarkson had his first game back as Norf coach last weekend, to give the young squad the emotional boost they needed to finish the year. But as noted above, this is a young team at the end of a long season, they could be up for the fight or this could be over quickly.

Lets hope its the latter.

So......which Essendon is going to rock up?

Coach Brad Scott has backed in his senior players to get the job done and win this one to keep the teams finals hope alive. Let's all hope he is onto something good and the lads can pull this out, and that we can save ourselves a heart attack through affording us some breathing room.

Norf wont be pushovers though, Clarko is back and hates us, and after losing 12 straight grand finals against us they will be breathing fire.

I do want to (genuinely) shout out a couple of absolute war horses in Ben Cunnington and Jack Ziebell who will be playing their last game against us after announcing their retirements.
Two blokes who have made a living sticking their heads into places on the footy field that most mere mortals wouldnt dream of being brave enough to do, and a couple of ripping blokes it would seem to boot. All the best in retirement lads, and good health (especially you, Ben) going forward.

Hope we beat you though.

Go Planes.

Not sure why but I have a good feeling about this one.

Players should be up and about after Cats loss and knowing Pies are gettable.

GWS a worry but maybe Stringer & Setters to return.

2MP due for a big bag.

And also Draper?

A happy outcome depends on Ess successfully recovering from a kanga charge in first qtr/half as will be an emotional game for north.

Regardless, bombers need to keep pushing and continue to build the competitive side to their game. Good opp to get the young kids (Tsatas) experience.
