Umpires have clearly been ordered to help West COke.

Its a disgrace.

Also Grimes looks like shit, hes getting killed by Darling.

Not as bad as 2008-2009 when WC were allowed to rugby pass and
BT went off his head, its criminal how bias the umps are during WC
home games - but regardless, we would still be copping a smashing on the scoreboard.

Our gameplan is sub-standed and whilst the bad umpiring isnt helping,
we are clearly being outplayed.

We start too slow, its unforgivable really.

Game has been really one sided so far, but you guys are out of it by no means, a string of 3 goals in quick succession which melbourne do often and you're right back in it.

All you really want to see is your team compete and for large parts of that half we just did not seriously compete. The players look lazy. Are they really doing gut busting running? Most of the time when the camera pans out there are three or four Melbourne players standing still. You never see that with other sides.

Exactly. It was only last year that we all walked into the MCG on sat night for round 5 against the undefeated Brisbane Lions. Most of us were just wanting to see us genuinely compete and have a proper go. Look what happened then when we actually ran spread from the contest. When we manned up in defence and took some pride in our possession and our gameplan.

Bails has the balance of the year to achieve a few things IMO.

1) Demonstrate an ability to develop a game plan that allows us to clear our defensive 50.

2) A forward structure.

3) To not get jumped every single game. I mean GC kicked 2 of the first 3 goals against us.

PS. Would it hurt for Bailey to tell us to just play 1:1 a;; around the ground for a qtr? Just to change it up and at least attempt to force a contest? Seriously what is the worst thing that can happen, couldn't be worse than that 1st qtr

By the way, what is the free kick count? That was one of the most one sided displays of umpiring I've seen this year. The decision to pay that out of bounds on the full was staggering...

Free kick counts don't have to be equal. Melbourne are second to the ball and slow with the ball = recipe for lots of free kicks. There were numerous obvious frees not paid to West Coast - how one of your guys can grab the ball, dodge a few people, run a few metres and get tackled with no free kick to WC is mind boggling also. Keep blaming the umps if that makes you feel better though.
