Gary Snr. It would be interesting to see Jnr in a less dominant side however, because I think he sometimes get underrated due to the quality around him.

Ha, that's a good point actually. I think generally there are two schools of thought re: Ablett. There's one that rate him as being undoubtedly the #1 player by a mile, and one that puts several others before him as a result of 'easy ball' etc. I think he lies somewhere in the middle, and I just can't tell how he'd go in a side without the sort of support he gets at Geelong.

Junior, simply because Snr retired a year after I was born so I didn't see much of him, plus Junior has gotten a few flags.

Snr by a mile still. Great forwards are more valuble than great mid-fielders and much, much better to watch.

Personally, I don't think number of premierships makes a difference, because Snr would obviously be a vital component of any premiership winning team, and was a performer on the big stage, even when his team didn't win. Just needed a stronger team presence around him than what he had.

Didn't see any of Senior but he played in 4 GFs for no flags. Forwards tend to struggle in the intensity of finals and he only kicked 13 goals in his four GFs, 9 of them in the 1 game.

On that basis, I'd take the guy who'll dominate in the midfield and get the ball down there in Jnr.

i know ablett snr dominated one grand final, but i thought he went missing in the other 3. He also couldnt control his temper at times and whilst both basically avoid the spotlight and that sort of thing, ablett snr seemed a bit too much of an outcast sometimes.

Id go jnr, im not having a go at snr, im just trying to split two champions

I think some people forget how good Snr was.

I have a few videos (not just highlight reels) and he was just amazing to watch.
