Do you want someone to plonk the dozens of Stevie Johnson diving and faking videos up? I'd fade into the background if I was you.

Most free kicked team of any top 8 side.

So, after R19 (couldn't access R20), Geelong is ranked equal 6th in frees FOR and 7th in frees AGAINST. That really paints a clear picture of umpire favoritism, doesn't it?.

Actually it was the defender infinging on Christensen because he was going to take a clear mark within range that cost them that free kick. Nothing more or less.

Bit simplfied - Geelong missed 3 very gettable shots at the start of the 4th quarter which could have taken the game away. If we're going to do a hypothetical where Freo kick straight, we should pretend Geelong did too.
First one - matter of interpretation then. I thought he was unlucky to give that one away, personally...

Second one - this is the same argument Cats fans have been trotting out since the 1997 semi v Adelaide, where many screamed highway robbery for an incident that happened, believe it or not, in the third quarter which they claimed cost them the game. The difference between the Cats missing shots which MIGHT have influenced future play (who knows if Freo would have buckled - the Cats might have instead got even more complacent, or even more likely, the sequence of events that led to the other goals might not have eventuated, so we end up in the same situation anyway), v two misses from totally capable players which were the last actions of the game (there is no future play after Mundy's free, everying rode on it), is chalk and cheese. Mundy missed, Geelong won, fair enough, as the other result would have been if he got it - but nothing erases the suggestion that the Cats weren't damned lucky, and it certainly isn't simplified...it IS that simple...if anything, you're irrelevantly complicating the matter...!

None of them would come close to matching that pathetic cheating. However you are right, he can ham it up a bit but he's not in Lindsays class, but then again, no one is.

Also he is a team player....

I'm over Geelong mainly because they've been up there for so long i'd prefer to see new blood rather than anything they have done to make themselves unliked.

Some of their supporters are pains now but that happens to all clubs when you have sustained success.

Both hands on the back. That's gets called 50% of the time. Lucky free but not unsurprising and we wouldn't even be talking about it if it happened 3 minutes earlier.

Didn't look a lot different to the Kelly on Lindsay Thomas free from a couple of weeks ago, that everyone seemed to agree was a free, funnily enough.

Admired Geelong up until they hired one of the Scott sisters. It's pretty tiring watching him carry on like a tool at every free kick going against his team. I'm sure he's happy with Flopwood getting his usual 5 frees last night. You now can't even shirtfront him.
I remember the free kick count going against Geelong when they played the Bulldogs and they nearly pulled down the fibro cement homes bordering the ground in rage.

But if we imagine Freo kicking straight, surely we imagine Geelong kicking straight? Therefore Geelong still wins.

Yup and there wasn't a big sook and carry on from neutrals like there is now is there? Can't happen because Geelong are just cheats. Nothing more.

And Selwood AVG 2.8 frees a game where did you get "his usual 5"? Oh yeah that's right, you're making it up like always..

Sorry - he only averages 3 per game, but had 5 last night. What's with the chip on both shoulders with cat's fans these days.

Well go and read this thread and the gameday thread.

People want us to be humble and take it in the ass, but pot shot our players and club, accusing of us cheating.

Of course we're going to be defensive and stick up for our club.

Twice this year Carlton has been robbed of a victory over Geelong by atrocious umpiring

Twice the Umpire Boss ahs come out and said the decision was wrong in Geelongs favour

Pretty clearly Geelong is still the most belved by the AFL/Umpires anyway

Disgusting

It was one decision. A crucial incorrect decision, but to infer that there is some preferential treatment is absurd. Otherwise I thought the umpiring was generally acceptable.

Freo kick straight, particularly Mundy, they win. Hence, as it directly stands based upon what happened in reality, Geelong lucky. Geelong kick straight at a much earlier stage of the game, we play another 15-20 minutes and go through well over 100 possessions where anything could happen...ten goal quarter from Freo, or neither gets another for the game, who knows...always in motion is the future...the two can't be compared, or you might as well start extrapolating how many flags the Cats would have won with or without Ablett after 2010...

In any case, on the other topic from someone paid to know:

The coach of both teams from every game could no doubt select a free kick against his team which the AFL would, if forced to take a position, agree was wrong. E.g. there was a dead set shocker of a htb decision against Geelong I the second half last night. However only Malthouse feels the need to chuck a diversionary hissy fit every time the Blues lose. It bewilders me that people complain about C Scott when Malthouse sooks about something irrelevant literally every time Carlton loses.

Lol what crap.

Menzel non-free earlier on the year was the correct decision. Menzel dived forward into a stationary lonergan leg. Lonergan could do nothing. When they start paying these, I think it will be the death of AFL. Absolutely shocking we have real footy fans out there wanting shite like this paid.

Next, whilst I agree it should not have been paid a free last night (to Christensen) you were only in the game last night because we kicked 2.8 in the 3rd quarter. You had more frees in the game. We should have been at least 4 goals up and deserved the win.

Stop your whinging.
