And how many times have you seen that happen?didn't Selwood get pinged for holding the ball in the final minute of the game last night? Hence, it is only the free kicks he receives that garner any attention.

Haven't you heard big Gil:So if a tackle 'lands legally', but then slips down to become a trip, a free kick shouldn't be paid for that?
So 1. When a tackle slips high and hits the sacrosanct head it is a free kick, and as such Selwood receives them.Haven't you heard big Gil:
'The head is sacrosanct'

And who causes such high contact? So 1. When a tackle slips high and hits the sacrosanct head it is a free kick, and as such Selwood receives them.
2.doesn't change the fact that if a tackle starts at the waist and then slips down and becomes a trip, a free kick should also be paid.
So again players need to learn to tackle properly.
A Selwood holding the ball happens once in a blue moon compared to the amount of high free kicks he gets.honestly? Have seen it happen quite often. Usually never stands the mark but gets up and runs on ahead of the play to get involved in the next contest but yes, he does get tackled often and you'd wanna hope so too given the amount of times he has the footy in hand.
The player who can't stick a tackle. It's like a player who chooses to bump and injures the player he bumps. Or tackles and slings him to the ground and gives away a free. And who causes such high contact?
You can't protect the head if the rules encourage creating contact between your head and an opponent.

Not the rules and players which abuse them in order to gain free kicks? The player who can't stick a tackle.
whut? Not the rules and players which abuse them in order to gain free kicks?
3 for, 3 against.do you know how many free kicks he got last night?
Don't worry about it, it's not worth the time.whut?
A poor tackling techniqueAnd who causes such high contact?

Let's just ignore the whole umpiring issue at the moment. These high free kick drawing tackles need to be eradicated for the health and safety of the players. It's not gonna be long until a duck (or the Selwood tactic) breaks someone's neck, whether it be in the u15s or the AFL. Then the AFL has a bigger issue on it's hands. Mackie got very lucky today, he could of been a victim of a monster the AFL created. As I said above it's like a player who chooses to bump and injures the player he bumps. Or tackles and slings him to the ground and gives away a free.
Now I know you are trolling; Fyfe (or whoever it was) was careless. It's that simple - Mackie got to the ball first.Let's just ignore the whole umpiring issue at the moment. Hold up, GUTHRIE?! What on earth has he done wrong?Love Jimmy but cannot stand Selwood, Johnson and Guthrie.. Hard to like a team with those 3.
I'm not trolling, it won't be long til some parent sues the AFL for their kid ending up in a wheelchair because they've tried to get a high free kick and have snapped their back. Mackie got to the ball first, had a chance to stand up, instead ducked looking for a free kick resulting in him getting a severe knock to the head. The only way to stop this is to stop giving players frees for it.Now I know you are trolling; Fyfe (or whoever it was) was careless. It's that simple - Mackie got to the ball first.
Crowley anyone? How can anyone like a team with a terrible human being like Johnson in it.
