I propose we drain the tears from this thread into a decorative pond where posters can gaze and reflect on the real source of their anger, which is that the Cats have been good for an unusually long period of time. Nothing more, nothing less.

There's enough tears in this thread to turn every inch of Central Australia into a fertile lush green oasis. :D

Twice this year Carlton has been robbed of a victory over Geelong by atrocious umpiring

Twice the Umpire Boss ahs come out and said the decision was wrong in Geelongs favour

Pretty clearly Geelong is still the most belved by the AFL/Umpires anyway

Disgusting
Unfortunately for you, the stats suggest that Carlton is more loved by the umps than Geelong

Oh poor diddums, you troll an opposition club and can't hack it.Here is an idea - STOP TROLLING OTHER CLUBS
Didn't he troll our club a couple of weeks ago. I distinctly remember this flog.

Freo kick straight, particularly Mundy, they win. Hence, as it directly stands based upon what happened in reality, Geelong lucky. Geelong kick straight at a much earlier stage of the game, we play another 15-20 minutes and go through well over 100 possessions where anything could happen...ten goal quarter from Freo, or neither gets another for the game, who knows...always in motion is the future...the two can't be compared, or you might as well start extrapolating how many flags the Cats would have won with or without Ablett after 2010...

In any case, on the other topic from someone paid to know:

Hey block writing man,

Can you break those paragraphs up and get some white space into your rants please ?

You are 'difficult to read'.

I'm glad you're not my favourite author.

First one - matter of interpretation then. I thought he was unlucky to give that one away, personally...

Second one - this is the same argument Cats fans have been trotting out since the 1997 semi v Adelaide, where many screamed highway robbery for an incident that happened, believe it or not, in the third quarter which they claimed cost them the game. The difference between the Cats missing shots which MIGHT have influenced future play (who knows if Freo would have buckled - the Cats might have instead got even more complacent, or even more likely, the sequence of events that led to the other goals might not have eventuated, so we end up in the same situation anyway), v two misses from totally capable players which were the last actions of the game (there is no future play after Mundy's free, everying rode on it), is chalk and cheese. Mundy missed, Geelong won, fair enough, as the other result would have been if he got it - but nothing erases the suggestion that the Cats weren't damned lucky, and it certainly isn't simplified...it IS that simple...if anything, you're irrelevantly complicating the matter...!
Yep but Geelong had repelled lots of entries that came deep into their forward line against Freo in that last quarter. Pav and Mundy had to go a fair way out to get the marks-which took the shots on goals out of the 'gimme' status. So it wasn't just lucky-we forced the distance/angle to be a bit of an issue.

There is a reason why teams are inaccurate against Geelong; because of reasons like this. Alot of opposition supporters don't realise this and thus other teams are unlucky, when in reality Geelong just have a very good defense who knows what they are doing. Any good team does this and makes sense; force the opposition out wide at a horrible angle.

You might as well not pontificate about it all, because it is all fantasy. What is the point of talking about something that didn't happen? Will never understand it, just wishes and bullshit.

One, I'm a female, and not a flog, two, trolling occurs in your own forum, this is general. It's simply an opinion. You guys think geeeellllong supports the only ones allowed to have an opinion?

If I go into geeeelongs forums, fair enough, slag away, but I'm not, I'm merely having an opinion, you may not agree with it, that's fine, but personal attacks are just not warranted.

My opinion, Geelong play dirty for frees, the new ducking thing into a pack last night, someone will break their neck? Is it really worth it?

I also think you get a ridiculously easy run from the umpires. Roughy should have got off, Steve Johnson serial TROLL should not.

Cheers

That new thing? No good? But they've spent hours practicing it on the training track?!?

Thanks for your opinion.

Are you that magpie female ( I can't remember her name) that disappeared and all loved ?

Well I apologise for the he comment.

If we played for frees and received a ridiculously easy run, wouldn't we be better than middle of the road for frees for.? Simply the free kick favouritism argument does not stack up.

Did we get lucky against the blues, possibly. However, there are occasions where we've been hard done by in that department like r16 vs WB for example.

Good sides however win despite unfavourable umpiring rather than whinge about it.

Both of Johnson's latest two incidents were insufficient force, read our board, most are of the opinion that he's stupid.. But those last two were hardly worth suspension.

How is roughy relevant, assuming you're talking about his trip? He doesn't miss the hawks v Geelong game regardless, and imo it was worth the reprimand up to 1 week with carry over points.

You are allowed an opinion, most of us cats fans feel that the tackler should learn to stick a tackle, if you can't stick a tackle properly it can be shrugged high. Which is a free kick.

Where is the difference between say Selwood shrugging a tackle high with the arm lift, and a player shrugging the hips so that an originally legal tackle then slips low and becomes a trip?. Both are free kicks, and both originate from tacklers inability to stick a tackle.

Fair point

What really needs to happen is the umps stop paying dives ducks and acting and yes all teams have a player that does it, but some more than others.

I cringe when pendles does it

hmm cat stroking.. can't decide if it is good or bad...

sentimental at best, catastrophic at worst.

the humble pigeon would say that cats strike first without memory of their last.

the humble hawk would say... the more fur you stroke, the more tears that follow...

just rambling as usual.

Used to be one of my favourite teams. Even after winning the 2009 grand final majority of their supporters were humble and easily to get along with. Now i find most geelong fans are arrogant not sure what happened but meh

Well for the last few years we have been constantly attacked by Hawthorn and Fremantle trolls. So many Geelong posters have gone on the attack as a result, which comes across as arrogant I guess. But when you're being constantly provoked, one's going to slip through every know and then. If sticking up for your team is the definition of arrogant, then colour me that.
