Yeah some dumb old twerp in a hideously bright orange top leans his fat gut over the fence and abuses Hawkins [was it Mod Dog or Pess ?] and he just simply smiles, doesn't say a word, and he's "arrogant"

Crikey the moron brigade really are struggling for reasons to hate Geelong
I think you'll find the dumb old twerp was only responding to the smug arrogant twerp.
The dumb old twerp had a winners grin at the end of the night though:)

They all hate us but still love watching us. Shit I cant even watch a Freo game on tv, if I see Crowley or Balla's head on the screen I feel like throwing my wife, kid and dogs thru the tv screen and setting fire to the house :)

Pretty easy for me to be well and truly sick of the Cats (and their legions of insufferable supporters!!) when you live in Geelong and barrack for Richmond!!

No you didn't.

Well between 1981 and 2004 (24 years) we had only two seasons where we lost more than we won (1987 and 1997). Two.

The other 22 years out of 24 we won half our games or more, including 7 minor-premierships in 18 years between 1984 and 2001, as well as 4 flags.

We had it pretty good for a long time.

Yep, and then along came James.

I don't think cats can win flag this year but they will give everyone a decent fright

I think the other three are better sides overall and can run out games better

Geelongs forward line is struggling and without Johnson they lack firepower .....not sure how bad that injury is

They will jab him and getting jabs in the foot makes kicking really hard

Oh so you are saying that you used to be accustomed to mediocrity. Not constant winning.
I think I can remember about 8 years (being kind) in the last 40 where you were constantly expected to win.

None of those being in the last decade.

#Note; Collingwood, Richmond, Essendon, and North have won more than they've lost this year.
No reason to call home to mum.

Well, unless Boohoomer Harvey has transferred to the Cats, I'm afraid this thread title is incorrect!

Between 1984 and 2001 (18 years), we finished on top of the ladder 7 times. Even Geelong, has only finished on top twice in their era since 2007 (and the Cats did it once in 1992 also)

Having only two losing seasons out of 24 seasons from 1981 to 2004 is consistent success for the Bombers. How many top-of-the-ladder finishes and premierships did Geelong have in that time? One and none, compared to Essendon's 7 and 4. Hopefully, we are on the verge again. It can all start with a week 2 elimination of the Cats in 2014 ;)

No one enjoys watching you anymore champ. Watching Geelong now is just watching four quarters of the umpires pulling out bullshit frees to make sure Geelong win. It's very tedious and frustrating.

I'm sick of them I admit it. Sick to death of them.

Would be brilliant if they go out in straight sets. Even better if we are the ones who get to do it to them.

Some of their players are getting a little too enamoured with themselves. Tom Hawkins, on Saturday night, at least twice gestured to the crowd in an arrogant manner after kicking two goals, as if to say, "Yeah, we'll beat this mob, so I'm allowed to carry on however I want"

I've got no problems with Hawkins giving someone in the crowd one after kicking a goal. He has the runs on the board and would have been copping it to be honest. I have nothing but respect for those players who won multiple premierships playing a great brand of football, hell that playing group basically flicked a switch and became a legendary team.

The ones that get on my nerves are the Caddys or Motlops of that team who carry on as if they too have won multiple premierships. The ones who have come in to a strong team and haven't the same aura around them, if that makes sense.

Fair enough, I would be annoyed if none of our players annoyed you. The young players have come into a team that wins about 80% of the time, they don't have any concept of struggling or earning their wins.

Hawkins did nothing untoward. The fact that people are getting wound up over a smile is ridiculous... If a player cops abuse all game from idiots in the crowd then said idiots can expect something back from time-to-time.

Why do you think the umpires want us to win so badly that they make these "Bullshit" frees for the world to see? Do you think its time the AFL had an investigation into match fixing maybe? A serious answer would be appreciated to, none of this bullshit that we have photos of umpires and their superiors making love to farm yard animals.

My view is less conspiracy and more that Geelong work at gaining the umpires attention to get free kicks for minor infringements.

The Johnson fake against Freo , the Bartel fake against hawthorn, the soft late game free in the forward line against Carlton, Selwood's 'accentuating' of contact, etc.

It actually seems like Geelong work to get the umpires attention - which in my view is pretty poor sportsmanship. Personally I don't like it and a big part of why I don't like the cats.

They've gotten much worse at it this year than any other. They're like the late champion era of Brisbane, when the Lions got old they played a very unsporting brand of footy. The Lions were more on the thuggish end than Geelong, but both are in the style of not playing the game as it should be played.

Strangely enough there's a commonality to the two eras - Chris Scott.
