I was so impressed by O'Sullivan last night. Only his second final. Losing some experienced defenders beside him in the first quarter and having to step up. It's backs against the wall stuff and you could have forgiven him for going into his shell a bit. But he was fighting tooth and nail at every contest. Taking the measured risks when they needed to be. Not everything went his way but he wasn't going to die wondering. He's a real keeper.

We really are becoming the Man United of the AFL. Seven grand finals in 18 years.

For those old enough, imagine going back to 2006 and someone telling you "This club will spend the next twenty years playing 1 in every 2.5 grand finals."

Not much between the average ages, 10 players with less than 100 games vs 8 players so we clearly have guys in the pipeline and nearly as many as them, and then the rest of the stats are either equal or we have 1 more than they do.
Yet they make it sound like its a team of 30 years with 1 or 2 rookies.

We may have some very important players that could be retiring in the next couple years?

I recall him being an absolute throttler last year when old man Ken bundled them out too. Spoke terribly to the journos, taking swipes at the AFL etc... But it was all good theatre apparently

Everything has been covered. Just a magnificent performance. Not our prettiest, but one full of resolve, persistence and courage.

Dangerfield has every right to be an accompanying act these days. An icing on the cake player. Not to be the star, best supporting actor and director of his own movie. An astonishing game from probably the greatest bull of a player we’ve seen grace the field. Tonight for those of us that were fortunate enough to witness the game live - his game will be talked about for years. I just hope he can join our last 3 captains next week as one that also lifts the cup.
