Well done on reaching the GF. I love how you guys go about it and will be cheering you on come Saturday.

Two friends and I purchased GF tickets from the AFL Event Office mid year back when the Pies were on fire (I know..). I’ve already pre-sold two of them and have one left. Sharing this info here in case anyone is interested - looking just for the retail price. We will pop it on the official resale site if we get no luck through the Forum.

It’ll be a Level 4 Front ticket.

Well getting into the grand final is so much better going down to Melbourne.
Flying down Thursday morning so thinking of going to Fitzroy for a traditional Lions counter lunch.
Any suggestions for a great pub would be appreciated .
Maybe if we don’t get tickets for the big game we could maybe go to one of the pubs but here’s hoping we get tickets
Royal Derby, Brunswick street; Rose or Napier, Napier Street. Royal Derby had Lions focused events last year.

Can't take any chances with Neale & Berry.
Have Bruce and Marshall on the wings.
And bring in Dev Robertson as sub.
Geelong are a tough, blue collar team and Dev brings inside grunt and tackling intensity. He's also one of those players that can be put into a side after a long hiatus and still perform. He's proven in finals also.
Have a sneaking suspicion it will be Dev for the reasons list.

Hey mate, I’m in interested if still available.

We are going to have to play four quarters out of our skin.

Geelong are firing.

Nah, they threw first punch in qualifying final and made us fall. Unfortunate for them, we didn't stay down for the count and are back now standing, with a point to prove. It's our turn to throw the punch now - can't wait.

The vibe in the spirit world is that we are like the ‘Baby Bombers’ in 1993.

The Lion Cubs will make the difference.

Levi Ashcroft 18
Sam Marshall 19
Ty Gallop 19
Logan Morris 20
Will Ashcroft 21
Jaspa Fletcher 21
Darcy Wilmot 21
Kai Lohmann 22

These players know no fear.

I know a lot of the sentiment is around Big O getting his chance after last years heartbreak, but I love that a lot of the boys were quick to mention Dizzy as well being in the same boat. Bloke had a phenomenal game last night and after a decade of servitude to the club, couldn’t think of anyone more deserving then Darcy to get his flowers

Off topic of the actual game, but on-topic of GF week.... Hugh is arguably over-long in the betting markets for the Brownlow. AFL.com are predicting a top 5 finish. Do with that what you will.

Now do Collingwood

2022.
Melbourne, our absolute bogey team demolished us at the Gabba in the final round by 58 points.

2 weeks later, we beat them by 13 points at the G.

Trust in the Fagan and co coaching process for this one!
I was just thinking about how critical that game was to our developmental journey. Noting it was our first final at the MCG (and we got smoked there the following week), winning that game seems so unlikely after what happened in the last round. And now we've collected both the Collingwood and Geelong MCG final achievement.

If Neale and Berry both put their hands up and say they’re good to play both get picked for me.

It’s rough but Bruce out for Neale, Levi to be the sub. Marshall has been too good in the wing role to drop and does a lot of good for our structure and spacing the ground. Levi as good a sub as you could hope for considering the risks on Neale and Berry.

Whatever happens next week it’s been an incredible season for this group and it’s only going to get better from here

It pains me to say, but I don't think we can play Berry to be honest. He did his shoulder, we gave a long rest and he looked proppy on the first game back. He needed that game to gain some confidence and in Suns game he was back to his full tilt self. He's done the same shoulder again so I highly doubt we can risk him. Geelong will target him, bump him off the ball and we'll have to roll out the sub even in the first few minutes.

Now do Collingwood
Collingwood had two players 22 or under last night.

Ned Long 22
Nick Daicos 22

They are ‘washed’ next year and will be for some time. They haven’t put games into young talent and they are going to end up needing to do something close to a full rebuild. They haven’t promoted young talent the way we have and mismanaged their list in the process.

I took at bet on Huggie before the start of the season. Normally if they think the player has a chance they offer you the option of a cheaper pay out - haven’t got it so thinking he’s not a chance.

Still think he’s good for structure and knowing his role. If he says he’s good to go I trust him not to hold anything back. It’s rare a sub has much of an impact if they’re left too late to come on anyways. I think the reward is worth the risk personally
