That's it! Untaxed, untraceable Church money!New rort unlocked. Ablett - while getting paid by Gold Coast - was recruiting for Geelong.

Yes it’s much less believable than ‘well paid sports star with lucrative sponsorship deal buys property.’
That’s one that no one will ever work their head around.
Eric Hipwood - sponsored by no-one of note but the best forward since Gordon Coventry - owning a 5-bedroom house that was recently listed for $3.75 million is normal but Bailey Smith with one of the best known sponsorship arrangements in the AFL buying a home for $4 million is scarcely believable.
Cal Ward bought a $5 million dollar home in Bondi two years ago. Not sure he and his wife have the deals that Smith has but I’m not up on what influencers earn.
But at any rate we know that Smith didn’t buy this legitimately. Only players from 17 other clubs actually own their properties.
No doubt he's accumulated a decent piggy bank from the years Footscray have been rorting the cap via the Cotton On sponsorship. AFL stood in the way of Ablett Jnr getting third party sponsorships at Geelong but had no qualms about Smith signing lucrative off-field deals at Footscray. Some clubs just get all the luck.None of those players just turned 23.

None of those players just turned 23.
And McDonalds, and Monster Energy, and Kayo Sports, and CoinSpot. What kind of a racket were Footscray running?None of them are used as the face of nationwide advertising campaigns for a clothing company that posted sales of $2.2 billion last year.

Oh yeah which team does that company sponsor again![]()
Not the team he played for when he signed the deal. Dogs doing our rorts for usOh yeah which team does that company sponsor again![]()
That's Brisbane Lions Hall of Famer Chris Scott's stupid smug face to you.Imagine the whinging if Mission just happened to make De Koning an employee and paid him millions, outside the cap of course, only for him to request a trade to the dogs when his contract is up/ imagine Scott’s stupid smug face if the shoe was on the other foot.

If it was anyone else you'd have the Geelong media having a cry, then the afl would change the rulesImagine the whinging if Mission just happened to make De Koning an employee and paid him millions, outside the cap of course, only for him to request a trade to the dogs when his contract is up/ imagine Scott’s stupid smug face if the shoe was on the other foot.
Geelong media? What, the Geelong Advertiser? If it was anyone else you'd have the Geelong media having a cry, then the afl would change the rules
That’s when he was just a tough role playing footballer, not a smug, self righteous, holier than thou FIGJAM. Turned into everything that team wasn’t, not a fan as you have probably worked out. That's Brisbane Lions Hall of Famer Chris Scott's stupid smug face to you.![]()
Yeah nothing see here- who would have thought.Geelong media? What, the Geelong Advertiser?
We've rorted the media to be under our control now too. Like how we had Hodgey, Lewis, Dermott etc cry profusely after Sir Kenneth made the Hoks look like clowns on national TV. Geelong Mafia at it again.Geelong media? What, the Geelong Advertiser?
What could they do? Probably wouldn’t have guessed he would pack up and ship out on first opportunity he got. But yeah don’t see it for what it is- blame the bulldogs.Smith and Cotton On entered into a sponsorship agreement in about late 2021, 3 years before he moved to Geelong. Why did WB not do or say anything if being sponsored by a Geelong based fashion brand was such a sin?
And Chris Grant, Jack Macrae and Caleb Daniels? There are serious problems at WB, and Luke Beveridge seems to be the common denominator. This team should have won more than one premiership. Who can be surprised Smith wanted to play play at Geelong when Beveridge was hellbent on playing him anywhere but in the middle? What could they do? Just happened to end up at a club that had effectively already paid him a shit tonne of money. Spin it how you like, its dodgy and of course Geelong supporters can’t just admit it.And Chris Grant, Jack Macrae and Caleb Daniels? Been rorting since 2006. Guarantee the “no names” they just picked up in the draft were hidden away from the draft. Will be top 10 talents. Like Tom Stewart. Why would a player do this? $$$
Hiding this lad in Perth was a doozy.Hiding our late picks in small Bellarine leagues was a bit of fun at first but it was getting too easy so we upped the challenge recently and started hiding our picks in other club NGAs such as St Kilda's and we still pulled the wool over everyone.
