That may be just to teach him some basic defence, because he's atrocious at it.

Couldn't agree with this anymore. If that's how we need to play to compete against a side like Melbourne, then the team obviously is nowhere near capable of doing anything, and if that's the case, let's stop the bullshit, cut the under-performers and give kids a go.

If the team is good enough, no way should they be playing like that.

Worst thing is Melbourne aren't even a quick team, wait til we play Port, Bris, GC etc. who have speed and move the ball fast.

Doing it in bursts when needed and doing it as plan a for 100+ minutes are two different things. We can't do the latter.
