I think we can't trade for all the players like Minson. Here are my options

1. Wood
2. Maric
3. Get a ruckman in the draft if we can't get Kruzer!!!

I would be happy with Wood. Great tap work for his age a lot of upside.
Wood will be our tap ruck man and Patto will be our mobile ruck. I think they could do the job for the next decade and be quality for us.
What are prepared to give up for Wood considering by some reports he is still contracted.

Pick 19 , i would do. If they played hard ball I would give pick 18. In this draft Wood would be rated the second best ruckmen along with McEvoy, perhaps not as mobile as him but his tap work is more superior. His tap work by all report is better than Kruezer's.
Plus Brisbane have put three years into him.
If we got C Wood it would in effect give us 6 picks in the top 20 from the 2004 draft.
Meyer would be the only failure.
Lids, Tambling, Patto, Polo and Potentialy Wood.
I would be very happy, especially with another two picks in the top 20 in this draft.

Its time to send Meyer home to one of the Adelaide teams. I am sick of him being with us for three years and being on 17 games. If he cant play with us what chance has he got with Adelaide or Port Adelaide, whereas Lids is on about 50odd games.

We drafted a player with pick 12, a guy who is not a ball magnet but who is a specialist forward flank, but he is not opportunist or a goal kicker?
I think its time to go home but if he stays on, I beleive they should try him on a half back flank

So your saying Brisbane drafted Wood, put 3 years of work into him then trade him off just as he starting to show some potential? for pick 19 one less than when he was drafted 3 years or pick 18 if they play "hardball". Just so they can put another 3 years into a prospect?

Agree entirely. Minson is a poor mans Pattison. Big heart, willing to do the team things, but unfortunately we only have room for one of these blokes. Developing Patto is more essential than trading for someone that is not an out-an-out tap ruckman.

And... if he cant get a game at the Bulldogs after the length of time spent on their list, dont you think that he might not cut the mustard?

Brisbane will have to trade Wood this year. Now with Charman signing he is the third ruck in line.
If they dont, he will be lucky to play a handful of games next season and his trade value will decrease, he will be out of contract which means he could walk and lions get nothing for him (potentially).
If the Lions want anything decent in return they must trade him this year.

Can guarentee you that Sydney will NOT be trading their first round draft selection. Simple as that. 3 first round draft selections taken in the last 8 years, says that they wont be trading it away again.

Plus... they've learnt from trading so high for Darren Jolley and Ted Richards. Just wont happen.

The word is wrong, we would be losing out big time. If we wan't Meesen it will be via the PSD. He is not happy over there and therefor should be happy to leave for nothing.

1. Minson won't be traded, just as someone said about Darcy hanging up the boots.

2. He's isn't good enough to lead our ruck division post-Simmonds to a premiership, which is where we should be aiming.

I say this because I believe him to be both:
- Slow
- Doesn't make up for his lack of speed in his ruckwork abilities.

Decent, but not good enough. If we get someone, might as well get someone of real quality.

Simmons & Pattison can do the job next year, maybe next years draft you get Natinui.

Wood certainly is worth chasing but I don't think pick 18 or 19 will be enough.

it was mentioned on the news, that after the bulldogs had failed to come to an agreement regarding fevola they'd now be turning their eyes to a ruckman. what this means in regards to minsons availability i don't know. not really for getting him anyway.
