That's a fair haul to be honest. I'd be rapt If the draft turned out that way.

Listening to SEN Podcast with BAnd on ..he said he had heard PETRUCCELLE linked with early picks in the 20's and even as early as late teens.
Someone will fall thru .. its just a matter of who.
I'm not sold on Petrucelle at all either.Although it's branded as not a high class draft I reckon it's one of the more interesting ones. I get the feeling that from around 15 on there will be a number of surprises. I don't seem to have the same warm feelings with regard to Petrucelle that you do. I fear he's just another athlete that may find it difficult to develop both the game knowledge and footskills to be an high class AFL player. I have a number of players in front of him. If we looked at him with 35 then I could live with it.
I just missed Anderson on the way home so will have to listen to his podcast.
We can only hope it goes to someone else instead of hayball.I do lol that we keep getting linked to all these people as rookie picks when we only have one rookie slot free and it's probably going to hayball.

Its more a mater of having skill separation. If we are going to pick someone , a slow and steady player will probably not get in the side. JP's upside is enough to get him games.
I certainly think we have a need for more pace in the side. I'm just not sold on JP being the right one. I'd prefer Bailey who has run a sub 3 sec 20m but also wins his own footy and looks as tough as nails.
Id slightly disagree ... he is a late pick type ..id have said..similar to House etc.. what have we got a pick in the 70's..
Assuming the draft ran Anderson's way, how would you pick?
Any of Bailey, O'Brien, Richards or Murphy with our first pick and then Taylor with our 2nd. Where going to need another KPD shortly, particularly after losing Lonergan and given it's likely Taylor's last year. Gardner hasn't yet debuted either so we're light on in that area. I feel Sam Taylor after a year of development at VFL level could slot straight in. He's got the frame to build up his strength rather quickly. And he's quick and has tremendous reach.I would be tempted to get hayes at 22/24 and try and get a kpd later. Crowden would be a good late pick.
What happened to our pick 35?22 Geelong Nathan MURPHY Sandringham Dragons
24 Geelong Sam TAYLOR Swan Districts
37 Geelong Toby WOOLLER Oakleigh Chargers
58 Geelong Gryan MIERS Geelong Falcons
70 Geelong Lachlan SMITH Kyabram
He is giving us Smith late ... must have a bit of a smell about it
It dropped down due to F/S and academy bidding. What happened to our pick 35?
I can't keep up! thanks. It dropped down due to F/S and academy bidding.

My preference of course is O'Brien but I have an inkling he'll go a little earlier.Think we are singing from the same hymn sheet this year Nakia. My thoughts exactly.

And then select Ling.I don't really have a strong preference out of those four as I think each would fill a gap in our team. I would bet my left nut though that Wells will let whichever of them slides to continue to slide right past us. I'm preparing to wave as one or two go by.

Yeah but we had more list spots for late picks last year than what we do this year.
If Hayes was there ..id prefer us to take him and get a KPD later ... the KPD's are far easier to get than a potential player like Hayes.
I'm with you on Hayes. There's actually a few nice ruck options in this draft. If we miss out on Hayes and CCJ early, I wouldn't mind us getting a ruckman like Meek late. I can also see us having a crack at Ballended (bid) or Brander early if they're there.
I'm convinced we'll go tall with either/both picks 22 & 24.
