Jeez you’re having a rough day Turbo.
It’s not about whether I believe something or not.

It’s about posting an article as if fact when there’s conflicting reports, just to serve the anti Geelong rhetoric of this particular user

The player and multiple reports say 4 years... make of that what you will .. there will be little more eveidence and there is always the chance of skew reporting ... like back in the day of 2 R1 picks for SJ..

He accepted a 3 year deal on less money to stay with North Melbourne.
"Geelong reportedly were dangling a four-year deal at the unrestricted free agent." REPORTEDLY.

Even if Geelong was foolish enough to offer Goldstein a 4 year deal, it comes down to the old maxim, "Better the devil you know than the devil you don't". He REPORTEDLY wasn't looking to move.

Jenkins is criminally underrated on here. I suspect it's his personality and demeanour that maybe rubs people the wrong way. Very good footballer.

We currently have near enough the worst group of talls in the league, something needs to be done and fast.
We pose no threat at all in the air to opposition defences and our smalls can't kick winning scores in finals.
Pity we didn't get Goldstein and he's just one we need at least 3.

Tend to agree, Sav drops too many marks to be a contenders 2nd forward, make him third fiddle and let him develop with the pressure off.

What amazes me is this has been going on for years.
Sam Taylor who's at the Giants (as if they neeeded another tall) was available but we went Fogarty in that draft.
It's a constant, we fool around will late rd and rookie picks like Buzza Gardner and wonder why they (talls) can't make the grade.

Delivery is the main issue plonking it on heads allows 3 man defence just to crowd the area, instead of hitting up the lead up, this has a flow on effect to our smalls cause our talls cant bring it too ground as they are always out numbered...

With our group there is no point in kicking a high ball, we have no one, unlike Richmond Brisbane or the Eagles.
It's a structure that can't compete effectively.

Goldstein had earlier been courted by St Kilda with a significant offer but turned it down. The Cats had remained in the picture by offering him three years.

Yes thats what we are doing at the moment, start hitting forwards on leads and functionality of forward line changes for the better

We've had only 1 big fwd lately maybe with the Stanley inclusion Sav is part of the fwd mix too.
Back to the first half year set up, Stanley ruck, 2 big fwds, Blitz deep defender spoiling the high ball.
Menegola drifting fwd and marking along with Dangerfield kicking goals and smalls feeding off, hey! it might work.

Was a big fan of Sam Taylor in that draft year, but he is more of a Key Defender, and we seem to have too many of those.
Might need to look at Riccardi in the draft this year @ 195. Him and Kreuger will give us some marking options as the third tall.
Hawkins and SavRat still a lock for 2020 and potentially 2021.

If they offered 4 ..it was cause thats what was needed to get him over the line...

the question now is .... if we were so desperate to do that... what the plan now for the trade period ...

It’s a bit concerning. Seems that Wells may be a bit trigger happy at the moment. May be garbage, but we’ve been linked to quite a few players already. Most concerning is that most have been over 30.

Exciting. Not concerning.
Much rather get excited about a quality AFL player joining us than some draft gamble.

Just not keen on the players we're linked with, mostly for contract reasons, not age. If the right experienced name pops up then I'll get excited.

If you are going to worry about everyone we are linked to you’re in for a bad time.

I think it may all be for the best ... like when we missed out on player 10-15 years ago... was it Rawling? worked out in the end..

You do realise that everyone comes from the draft?

You know my opinion. Would love to see us attack the draft as we did in '99 and '01. That turned out ok gambling on those occasions.
