LF may play less , he may play a lot more ..his age will not be a factor. Fog would not play 40 at geelong in the next two years at geelong if thing go to plan.. and probably more to the point .. how many games he played in 2021..probably determines if he gets traded in 12 months time.

So whatever he plays at Carlton is being swapped for a 40 games off a better quality from Higgins. If he gets injured or suddenly gets old then its a fail for mine. One cant say bad luck on the ijury front as that is more likely when we are talking a 33 yo

So he is a failed draft pick.

That seems like two really bad trade outcomes for the club so far. But I’ll wait until I see the overall ins and outs before making a judgement.

Moving fog out also might mean we get to see Cooper next season

If he had potential at his age and contracted it should be pick 15-20. we had all the levarage.

Id say 30 will go for higgins in some way shape or form so its fog and 51 for higgins which isnt great but i can live with it. Sometimes you lose on one trade to win on another its about the total outcome.

People two theories:
1. Wells is a good talent spotter, and the worst trade negotiator
2. we underget for fogarty, assisting essendon get more, essendon overgive for caldwell, and we underpay for cameron, ie there is change at the margin to get all deals done

It’s just absolutely frustrating that we give other clubs good deals, not extremely good but defiantly in there favor, yet we’re the bad guys in the media and GWS trying to stick us.

I actually think we got overs for nakia (40s pick is very good considering his injury record) and unders for fog so on net terms we are probably about level.

So many sooks in this thread, seriously Higgins is twice the player Fogerty is, take age out of it and we have a great upgrade, there is a reason Fogerty didnt play come finals time. The club and Wells know what they are doing, back them in ffs.

Picks now sit at 13 15 20 30 51 plus a 1st 2nd and 2 3rds next year.

I cant imagine we will hold all of those picks by tomorrow night though but its a great hand.

Probably fair to say that ..although id say delisting a player for nothing is the absolute fail. You either draft and it works and they play ..or they devalue .. how much will Caldwell get traded for. Very few early pick players suddenly escalate in value. We have assessed imo that he will not be best 22 in 2021 ..by that stage he will be worth a cockatoo pick

Decoining, do you mean they will be on less $'s?

We made a GF this season with lesser players than Cameron & Higgins. Granted I'm not overly impressed with the latter given that he could have come to the Cats last year for nix.

I think you're quite wrong on that. I think Tom will be dominant in 21 - the way he has managed his body & fitness overall looks very impressive and I reckon he easily has another solid 2 years in him.

Cameron will help this also.

List now down to 38 players (ablett taylor parsons schlensog kennerley parsons fog and cocky off) with cameron and higgins still to come in. Still probably need to move 2 or 3 fringe guys out at least as far as the numbers go.
