JJ is the insurance policy for Stanley/Fort/SavRat/Hawk.

But in saying that. SDK looks like a starting 22 player in 2021.
Add to that Jeremy Cameron.
Then add a BIG in the draft... Did someone say Shannon Neale??
Then he might make way.
Interesting times...

I have mention Shannon Neale a couple of times.

JJ..has had his go , to be honest id rather have a grandson of a club champ on the list...

Geelong Grammar student Ollie Lord looms as exciting AFL draft prospect
The grandson of a Brownlow medallist has been rated as one of the top tall forwards in this year’s draft pool — and it would continue a trend of Geelong grandfather-grandsons reaching big football.

Geelong is famous for its father-son connections.
Think Ablett, Hawkins and Scarlett. There’s also nearly enough offspring coming through to fill a senior and reserves team.

But its grandfather-grandson links are also providing top talent.

Exciting prospect Ollie Lord looms as the third grandson from Geelong’s 1963 premiership team to be drafted.

His grandfather Alistair won the 1962 Brownlow Medal in a 122-game career and played in the Cats’ flag the following season.

He would go on to play and coach in the Hampden league, including best-on-ground honours in South Warrnambool’s one-point win in the 1969 decider.

It had been a while since the pair had caught up because of social restrictions.

“He’s grown a bit,” Alistair remarked, as he took a seat at Geelong Grammar, where Ollie is completing his Year 12 studies.

“It’s been about seven months and I think I’ve grown about 2cm and put on three to four kilos,” Ollie replied.

Ollie’s now about 197cm. He would have towered over Polly Farmer in Alistair’s day.

“Polly was only 6’2.5,” Alistair said.

Alistair, 80, was a champion midfielder and Ollie is developing key-forward.

AFL talent ambassador Kevin Sheehan recently rated him among the best tall forwards in this year’s draft pool.

“Athletic tall forward who has shown very good ability overhead using good body positioning to launch at the ball or hold his ground,” Sheehan noted.

“Had an impressive training stint at Melbourne over the pre-season as part of the NAB AFL Academy accelerated development program.”

Melbourne is one of a dozen clubs to have interviewed the Caulfield Bears junior.

There was a lot to like, including his high marking, Alistair said.

“He leads quick, he positions his body well, his kicking — I always told him you’ve got to be able to kick both left and right and handball each side of his body,” he said.

“It’s like all young fellows, he could get the opportunity and he could not.”

Former Sandringham Dragons mentor Josh Bourke recently caught up for a kick with Ollie and said “he’s really becoming quite imposing”.

Forgive the ignorance, who is Shannon Neale?

His playing for peanuts so you'd think they'd keep him as insurance 🤔 have him in the VFL working with the kids. Strong VFL side bodes well for the Seniors (literally seniors 😂)
Even there though I'd want to be seeing Kreuger start to dominate vfl rather than compete for space with a guy who is insurance

An accountant would say we're overcapitalised on insurance

He is surplus to needs as well..we need a guy who can be a legit ruck back up ..not just a Hawkins backup. We haev been so luck with Hawkins and Blitz as far as injuries go
Late pick ruck would be the list spot I'd be replacing him with

Absolutely. every year we delay , its another year of development we have wasted.

IF we have long term plans for someone like Sam Walsh .. then maybe his brother on our list ..not sure who... young rucks are all speculative.

A WA kid ..ruck very mobile

A better version of the great Dean Cox.

In all honesty I could see it coming a mile away, after all his issues this year, bad form and injuries the writing has been on the wall, i personally wont miss him and thats nothing against the guy because he has been an absolute champion.

Not sure if Krueger is either a CHF or a Ruckman.
Just a poor man's clone of Tom Lynch the Crows version that is.
Jury out with this bloke for me. Haven't seen anything that says pick me pick me just yet.
22 years old next year. Expect a dramatic improvement from the man.

Im open to a range of selections..just pick one... I wrote about this kid earlier in the year

It’s probably a stretch to say AFL recruiters are mad on Max Heath, but they’re certainly sizing him up.
At 204cm, there is a lot of him, and the scouts will get a better look at the Victorian component of the draft combine.

Without having kicked a ball in the NAB League this year, the Sandringham Dragon has come into contention for an AFL listing.

At the end of last season no one at the club could have seen it happening.

But ahead of this season they had seen Heath go from a laid-back lad to what coach Josh Bourke called an “almost intimidating’’ presence in the ruck.

Next under the microscope in our AFL Draft watch is Sandringham Dragons prospect Max Heath, a fast rising ruck option in this year’s cohort. While he only managed one outing during last year’s NAB League season among a stacked Dragons squad, Heath put in a couple of big preseason performances to bolt into draft contention. He is also part of the Xavier College APS football side, where he plied most of his trade in 2019. The 202cm bigman has impressed enough to suggest he could become one of the premier rucks available in 2020, perhaps as high as in the top 30 range.

Looks like there's still a bit to go through before anything is official - so as it stands, Steven is still a Cat
