That was the exact question that was going through my mind. Who has more to gain by leaking? Clark or Geelong?
Neither has a lot to gain from it, but Geelong definitely wouldn't have wanted it leaked. I'd say it was his manager desperately trying to get things moving and putting pressure on the cats.

To be fair, that deal worked out well for both Geelong and his client. You could easily argue that he did a good job for both parties.
He was an imbecile , a monkey with a cigar could had done a better job with the piss poor PR and constant bridge burning by that idiot

Is it too optimistic to believe cooper will play 22 games next year? Sorry to bore but are his injuries insurmountable - anyone have an optimistic yet factual reading on this

Optimistic to think he plays 1 game let alone 22 with his injury problems!!

I wouldn’t go with 22 games but he should be getting a decent block of games pending injuries imo and VFL form firstly

The fact remains, the deal that was struck worked well for both parties

So you're just going to ignore him sticking a giant foot in his mouth when he stated 'Kelly wants to leave for compassionate reasons...but will not play for Fremantle'?

Of course it worked out the next year - he was out of contract and was always leaving. Kelly's manager caused us to dig our heels in, when all he had to say was 'Kelly needs to get home because of x' - and then just get WC to make the strongest play.

There's a reason why player managers don't go selecting clubs for their players under contract - because it pisses everyone off (see Lobb and Hill this year, who are managed by Colin Young who is just as dim as TK's manager).

Can't be bothered going that far back, haha. I actually called trade radio at the time, and called out the hypocrisy, along with his many other faux pars. I think most can agree, the guy was a deadset moron.

My favourite bit was where he attending a function and bagged out Freo (despite representing a Fremantle player ) and there being Freo club representative at the function ….and then lauded WCE and told them that the deal was already done ….words cannot describe how incompetent this moron is
