I doubt we'd even use pick 50 this year especially if we pick up Schlensog or another DFA. I'd prefer the future 3rd in what should be a much deeper draft when we'll likely have a bunch of retirees.

I don’t want to get into list spots again. We either use #44 this year and promote the rookie next year or #54 next year with the same net result. What would you do.

Ceglar is a list clogger who will slow the development of our young ruckman. He is horrible and somehow less consistent than stanley

No......whilst the overall trade is a draw imo, it gives us reasonable (better than Sav) back-up for Stanley, and buys time for our young rucks to do an apprenticeship in the VFL.

People complaining about losing Fort and gaining Cegler for practically nothing are hilarious, Fort was never anything more than a VFL ruck, he's 28, not 23 so the development period has passed. Cegler while older is a much better AFL backup to have in my opinion, happy with the trade and wish Fort all the best.

Couldn't agree more. If either Fort or Ceglar end up being 'important senior players' at their respective clubs next year, I think that team is going to be in some serious trouble.

Agreed.

Ceglar has more experience than Fort admittedly, but that's about it imo. It gives us a marginal improvement in the back-up to Stanley, keeps Sav out of the ruck, and buys a bit more time for our rucks to develop.

I'd probably prefer we bring in Schlensog who we clearly rate and Conor McKenna (don't know if he's keen but I rate him) for free, use probably only 2-3 picks this year then go hard at the draft next year when we can actually see how a bunch of talent plays.

Ceglar will get games next year, and he will be better in the ruck than Esava and Blicavs. The real issue is how that fits in with the rest of the team. But as a backup, will get more games than Fort, and be better than Fort/Esava/Blicavs in the ruck.
