If I'm reading it correctly;

In: Ceglar, pick 22, 50, Carlton F3

Out: Clark, Fort, Pick 41, F4

That's a win.

Glad the deal was done. Didn’t want him in the end. Would have been nice to get 19 but 22 plus a bit extra is a fair result. Get Knevitt with 22 and you’d take that.

We buckled,we always do,everyone knows it, but just heard rendell say we are good blokes.Thats ok but just want to win a trade.
Maybe we can offer young unestablished players from interstate clubs, better contracts to return to victoria , well done to freo didn't part with 19.

I'm displeased too and it takes alot for me to agree with the poster now known as BB.

My understanding our postion was 19 or 22 but 22 was to include (I think) a 2nd or 3rd rounder next year. If all we got was 22 we clearly caved and we have a history of doing it.

I doubt he will make any perceivable difference to our best side but its done now.. so jusyt another deal we will be sold is great. Everyone is a winner after trade and draft night.

Yes, glad we still restrain those picks in the 30’s. Potential to improve our draft position further if we want.

If getting Ceglar means we never see Blitz or Sav in the ruck again then it's a win.

Blitz not being there much is a real possibility. Esava, I wouldn't hold out too many hopes.

There is also no jenkins/jarvis.
Cegs will play forward a lot more than fort when in the two's.
This will absolutely provide more development opportunities for the 2 kids than if fort had of stayed.
and... definitely an upgrade on fort is stanley is injured or out of form.
+ could play with stanley if esava is injured or out of form
resulting in no need to pull blics from the backline if not required

Go on. The reason we wanted to keep 19 was to hopefully benefit from trading it to another club that's identified a player that's slid to the 2nd round. That's why it has much more value than its three place difference. I don't think we'll be hoping for anyone to fall there for us in that range. Never say never tho.
