Now my favourite game when an overrated player leaves:

How many career AFL games will Jordan Clark play? He is currently on 32.

I’m setting the line at 82.5.

Over/under?

If he's overrated and turns out to be an AFL bust, then the 2010s were a disaster for us for early picks. Smedts, Thurlow, Lang, Cockatoo, Fogarty and now Clark. Wells has had an absolute shocker of a decade.

The top photo is pre Ceglar and Clark deal.
The bottom photo is after the deals have been done.

Come on down WB & Pies

Thanks to Lore for all the great work over this long period.
I’m sure there will be a few pick swaps happening between now and draft night
So I assume the WB and Pies need more points, which is where we can come in, but whats the order on draft night to get it done? Like if NM say they want Daicos and the Pies need more points to match and we say "hey give us 27 and we will give you 34 and 50" when does that get done?

I think we did quite well out of an otherwise low key trade period. Moved on players who were failing with us for value where ever we could find it.

When you think about it Clark was what the third most expensive trade. We've gotten near zero value from him the last two years. That future 4th is a face-saving move.

Cegler if fit will play round 1, we're starting to have something resembling a proper ruck division. Think the flow on effect to the rest of midfield is greater than his personal reputation suggests.

I bet Matty Scarlett is feeling vindicated tonight.
Why? If it was Scarlett that put Clark on the outer he has cost us a quick player, something we have an insane shortage of.

Did we get Stengle?
Officially no, but he has said he is coming to us as a DFA so as soon as that window opens he will be a Cat.

He will get to over 150.
Maybe not at the same club. But the kid can play. And he's 21.

150 doesn't mean 150 good games. I think he'll be thrown around to different roles.

So given that it's been confirmed it's our Future 4th and not the Hawks - that's much better.

This is the state of play as things stand right now (correct me if I get anything wrong):

OUT: Clark, Kreuger, Fort, Pick 55, Brownless (delisted rookie), Taheny (delisted senior), Jarvis (delisted senior) Jenkins (retired), Hendo (retired rookie), Okunbor Cat B (retired)

IN: Pick 22, Future 3rd (Carlton), Future 3rd (Brisbane) Ceglar (200K of salary paid), Stengle (when we take him as a DFA)

Constable likely to be delisted and taken as a rookie at best. So leaves us with 5 senior spots, 2 rookie spots and 1 Cat B. If we upgrade Close and Atkins, that makes it 3 Senior spots and 4 rookie spots, along with 1 Cat B.

We currently have in this draft:

Pick 22, Pick 30, Pick 32, Pick 34

If we can combine 34 and 32 and get up to 23, then we would have 3 picks, and most likely upgrade Atkins and Close. If we can get Schlensog to commit to us, we can take him as a rook (as Richmond won't touch him if he wants us), and possibly Brander through the Rookie draft (again if he says he wants to come to us). Get McLachlin and another Geelong boy with our last 2 rookie spots, and call it a day!

Shh people on here don't like criticism of Wells.

What year was Clark drafted again?

Do we even have anyone from that draft still on our list?

Similar. But I think he was recruited as a running half back and we (I reckon Scarlo) wouldn't play him there. London to a brick Freo will.
Scarlett doesn't suffer fools and particularly not arrogant fools. If true that Clark hung up on Wells after he reminded him, 'If we can find a deal suitable for both parties, we will orchestrate a trade. If we can't, then you are contracted here and you will be coming back to Geelong', then I think Scarlo may have ell and truly worked him out. I haven't felt like that about any other player to leave Geelong since that tosser Justin Murphy.

Clark has said he didn't hang-up on SW.

You think Fyfe has higher standards than Selwood and leaders here? Fyfe won’t even bother learning his name. Just pops in and out of training in his helicopter.

Fyfe to run though him at training.
Then say the mozzies are around to night....😀

Right then and there
