On another note, i don't get why people question O Henry's mobility: he would be no less athletic than his brother who was a champion junior decathlete.

I don't think it's going to make or break a trade period. I think it's a sign we want to make it easier for players to get somewhere as a DFA and Wellsy and Mackie are going to have too much on their plate to worry about a future 3rd.

Looking at our list going forward i am trying to see what is needed in 2025-26 not the next two years as they would be lucky to have any real impact IMO.
What have the list managers been doing behind the scenes regards of a few future free agents or potential trade targets.
I think that there will be a few picks that will blindside the so called draft guru pundits this year.

Bris will trade out early as their kids are cert to be bid in r1. Daveys might not get a bid til the 30s so essendon would be silly to trade down 22 now they only do it on the night once a bid comes imo..and we need to do the pick swap in trade week as we dont have the list spots to carry the picks to draft night.
The only way i reckon we can upgrade our 2nd is if we can convince gc to send us 25 or 32 in the bowes trade .

Alwyns (aaron played for melb).one will be bid between 20-40 imo and the other late/rookie as he has done an acl.

Cause he is no realistic chance to crack our side and for his benefit allow him freedom of movement.

Its a bit off track for this thread but from where i sit theres a consensus top 7 then theres a group of 10 or so in the next tier. Then its very open after that and clubs could go lots of ways. He isnt in that top 17 or so to me so its possible he gets bid just before 22 but its more likely he gets bid later. Either way they are better off to wait til the night. If hes bid at 20 live trade it immediately before they match if not they get 22 and davey. I dont see why they would downgrade it now. Ashcroft is different because hes always going to be top 3.

Gunston is more of a combo of 3rd tall/KPP (being 193cm's), whereas the player Ollie most favourably compares to for me, is Dan Menzel. Same height, agility, amazing mark overhead and lots of tricks in the trick bag. Was rated by the Falcons as the best of their kids in that draft and recent drafts, and rated by recruiters as 'the more naturally talented of the brothers when comparing Jack and Ollie' - which is really saying something given how athletic and talented Jack is.

There's a reason Pies fans have had a meltdown over this - the kid has genuine x factor, and some of the stickiest hands I've ever seen

Will never leave either, as he's done his apprenticeship at another club - so ours for the next decade+, if he makes it (which I think he absolutely will)
