Don't get cute, just offer 18 and a future 1st for Henry and Bruhn and move on.
First sign that Mackie isn’t straight out of the Wells mould?

Andrew Mackie was a legendary sledger and troll. Did anyone think he wouldn't have a laugh while going about things?

Trade Radio Matt Rendell saying we offered Pies p38 for Henry accusing Mackie of lowballing teams and that other teams are pissed off and may not deal with us down the track. No round 1 offer for Bruhn either. Rendell is urging clubs to reject our offers and call our bluff. Now stating that other clubs want Wellsy back because he got deals done. Also saying Cats want way better for Esava than what we're offering for either Henry or Bruhn. He's daring Mackie to let the players drop into the preseason draft and good luck getting them with p18. This dude is bagging us big time and boy I reckon he's got some nerve. I think Mackie is being smart, just reflecting proper value knowing it's highly likely both Henry & Bruhn are probably 1 full season away from being in the team on a regular basis.

Bruhn and henry will get done for our next 2 r1s and sav will get us less than a r1.
The rest is hot air.

I do too. It's no secret I'm a huge fan of Esava's and will be shattered to see him in other colours.
But if he's decided it's in his own best interests to seek a trade, it's understandable as he seems to have dropped out of the selection frame. The club will make it happen.
Whichever way, I hope we get to see him playing at the highest level consistently, as he is a delight to watch.

well said Standup; exciting player to watch when he's flying for his marks.

Geelong pile on continuing on trade radio from Rendall. Apparently Mackie not easy to deal with and clubs wish Wells was back.
And I love it. Of course they want Wells back. We always complained because Wells paid overs to get the deal done quickly. I am happy for a bit of haggling and stand off.
I certainly would be requesting a second rounder for Sav. We have put 5 years into a ruck/key position player at both ends and got his body as AFL ready and who is about to enter his quality years. If Bruhn and Henry are worth 1st rounders Sav is definitely worth a second.

Personally I would be trading later picks and try and get picks in the 20's for Bruhn and Henry because that's what they are worth it's only that we have 18 and a future 1st at the moment that makes clubs want them. For me 1st rounders is overpaying for players that weren't in their best teams and who weren't top 10 picks in their draft year.

He won't go unless we get something we are ok with. He still has a year on his contract and as such Geelong do not need anything other than what fits with what we are trying to do. We don't need any late picks this year for example. Perhaps a F3 next year but that would be about it.

We will trade him in goof faith i reckon...

Who's getting cute and it's not necessarily that simple

If GC has in principle accepted our future 2nd as part of the Bowes trade, we're currently unable to offer our future 1st

As for Henry, Geelong is within their right to offer pick 38, especially when factoring in how Collingwood perceived his contract value versus that of their new recruit in Bobby Hill

Obviously exact details aren't made public, but Collingwood's contract offer to a Hill is reported as being significantly more than Collingwood's offer to Henry. The completed Hill trade was:
Collingwood give: pick 43 & future second
GWS give: Bobby Hill & pick 40

So, if Collingwood deem that Hill is worth a higher contract than Henry & where his trade value is essentially that of a future 2nd, how then do they value Henry as a first round pick?

I love that Geelong put pick 38 forward as the offer - yes Henry's worth more than that but it's also kinda sticking it to Collingwood & saying, "why should we pay top value for a player you don't rate as highly as one you just traded in..."

WE need to find a Fr2.. or we struggle to find what Gold Coat want?

In order of importance ...The first deal I want done is the Bowe just do it... get bowe and pick 7. Then do Henry for 18 ...he has done enough to be worth that... and this draft is not one to fight to the death over.

...then last Bruhn. If a deal cant be done , it cant be done.

We're very thin for key position depth. No way should we just give Sav away like that.
Ollie Lord for Sav [emoji16]
He made big strides, in SANFL this yr. To the point of named emg various times towards the end of the yr in the afl side. The tall fwds they already have, he would have to have an epic pre-season to get a spot in their 23.
