Everything = Pick 18, Pick 38 and a Future 2nd (30-36ish).

Pick 48, Pick 55, Pick 74 and a Future 4th were never getting used.

Pick 18, Pick 38 and Pick 32-36 for Bruhn and Pick 25. No net loss, no net gain as it stands.

If we get Bowes, Pick 7 and Henry for 25 and a Future 1st (as that's all we have left) then the net gain/loss is Pick 18, Pick 25, Pick 38, Future 2nd (Pick 32-36), Future 1st (Pick 14-18), for Pick 7, Bruhn, Henry and Bowes. No matter what happens from here, we come out massively on top.

as I have said... I will wait to see what the total end. Its the drive away price that counts.

IMO... the club must be thinking they can trade players out to get Futures from somewhere.

I think part of the apprehension from cats fans about some of the players we’re trading in is that we’ve become accustomed to trading in established players.
Trading in 20 year olds is exciting for what they could be but there is also a bigger risk that they won’t make it.
We will have a big group of young players after this draft and trade period. With the players drafted over the last couple of years and the new ones.

The odds are a lot of them won’t become stars. But we’re giving ourselves a better chance to unearth some talent by casting a wide net.
The development at the club will give them the best chance to be the best player they can.
Yes.
In addition Scott has got his elusive premiership, so he may be more relaxed about rebuilding.
Even the most optimistic of us would concede that the stars may not align quite so favourably in coming season for our current playing list and the cliff, when it arrives, will be steep.
We will probably see some accelerated emphasis on ‘rebuilding’ to skew our demographics to the healthier side of thirty.

Can Ollie Henry nominate for the National Draft rather than pre-season? If so, if Collingwood don't take 25 he simply nominates for ND and I doubt anyone uses a pick before 25 on him. Either way we get him for 25.
I don't believe so. As a contracted player I think your contract expires after the nationL draft.

Different story if you're delisted

I will see what the total ins and the totals outs will be ...but as it stand I think next year is going to be a lot thinner than we would have hoped I dont mind looking like losing a trade as long as the end results stands up.

Next year might prove an issue post-season, but for now we look like we're going to have prettay prettay prettay good depth for a shot at back-to-back in 2023

Larry David Hbo GIF by Curb Your Enthusiasm

Corey Enright: Pick 47
Luke Parker: Pick 40
Sam Mitchell: Pick 36
Leigh Montagna: Pick 37
Adam Goodes: Pick 43
Rory Sloane: Pick 44
Matthew Scarlett: Pick 45
David King: Pick 46
Brent Harvey: Pick 47
Robbie Gray: Pick 55
Dane Swan: Pick 58
Mathew Stokes: Pick 61
Karl Amon: Pick 68

And the list goes on
It is junk to us because we aren’t going to use the picks

So no trades can be lodged now til Monday.. gonna be a long weekend of wondering what we are up to

Hopefully they can lock the Bowes thing in early Monday. Otherwise the AFL will hold deals over for the deadline on Wednesday night before announcing. Henry will go down to the wire as Pies are just going to have to eat 25 and they won't want to be seen doing that easily.

I hate it when Geelong becomes desperate and gives away future picks for a short term obsession. We've already given away next year's second and 4th round picks, now we're trying to give away next year's 1st round pick. We swapped No.38, 48 and 55, as well as future second - and fourth-round selections, to Brisbane in exchange for the sole pick No.25. Now considering giving 25 and next year's first round (18 at worst) for Ollie Henry. What a joke. Basically blowing an entire year of draft picks for a player who will be a top up player and may or may not ever get a game. Why have we become so desperate. Ollie Henry is nice to have if you can get him cheaply. otherwise forget about it.
Yeah, our list management are always doing this shit, we are never going to be able to build a premiership quality list this way…..

Got a hunch we will either get #5 of the Suns or have a deal lined up to get it on draft night (if our target... possibly Clark is available).

If we get that #5 now (it will end up #6 after Ashcroft bid) it will snag one any of the players I think are in the top echelon of the draft.

Feel like there’s this top 6 and then it drops down level.

Top 6 prospects

Ashcroft
Wardlaw
Cadman
Tsatsas
Sheezle
Clark

Feel like Clark could absolutely get to 6... but even if he doesn’t... one of the others in this group would fall to us.

Sheezle, Tsatsas or Wardlaw would be a great get.

As per usual... time will tell.

But surely we are super keen on that #5 from the GC... and if they are keen on Holland, well we might just make it happen.

Had a good number ofa beers this afternoon though still far more lucid than Rendell. It’s seems to me that the AFL might have tapped us on the shoulder and said something like, “hey this Bowes deal ain’t a great look, you guys need to give up a bit now to placate all these hostile clubs and fans. Just donate a lazy 700 pts and we’ll move on. Deal?”

I think both will get done and Ratagolea will help us get Henry. Pies won't accept 25 on its own, but we will sweeten it like the Dockers did last year.

25 and 58 is fine for henry

Why the **** are you questioning a teams decisions that’s just won a flag…. Pretty much by doing this exact thing….
