Spot on.

If pies remain greedy and don’t accept 25 (and potentially our pick 58), I hope we walk away.

He’s not worth all the fuss and manoeuvring to appease collingwood a round 1. I’d rather hold our round 1 than trade for Henry and we are unable to anyway having traded our FR2.
We simply would not use pick 58 this year, we’ll take 4 picks to the draft if we lose Henry IMO, 16-29 (Grundy compo) and 41, we also have picks 50 and 51.

Henry, pick 16 and F2 for pick 7 and F3.

Quite likely to be trade week BS about Mackie to be honest.
18 for Bruhn is not consistent with being arrogant nor is 25 for Henry when it’s our best pick we have on hand.
Further as we all know you are entitled to an opening gambit but at the end of the day we always seem to leave a bit of salt on the bread😁
There was a fair bit of work to get 25 also. Not like they have been lazy and not trying to get the best pick they can. Could have said here take all these picks 38, 48, 55, fr2 fr4. He has packaged them up to be as high up this year as the market can offer up. You could argue we have offered up pick 20/21 value (someone was saying about 1600 points).

Sorry, which kid was that?
Lewis Hayes?
Would love to get him as a KB prospect, which would free up Henry.
I'd get him with. #7 ahead of any who have been noted. He is an excellent mark, mobile, aerobically excellent- can run all day, skilled, and could play CHF.
I suspect he will go ahead of our #7 if we were lucky enough to get that.

Yes... looks like he run himself into the ground ... I like the kid Max G

A stunning moment of sportsmanship from rising swingman Max Gruzewski was the highlight of the draft combine testing day, with the tall sacrificing his own 2km time trial to come to the aid of Lewis Hayes after a frightening fall at the finish line.
There were genuine concerns for Hayes, the brother of Port Adelaide ruckman Sam, when he stumbled and collapsed to the ground several times in exhaustion in the final 30 metres of the race.

Oakleigh Chargers draft bolter Gruzewski stopped his run and lifted Hayes up, walking him to the finish line with a support staff member.

Hayes, who is regarded as a potential first-round prospect, collapsed again before the line and finished the time trial crawling on his knees.

Jhye Clark confirms excitement about potential Geelong Cats pick

Falcons captain Jhye Clark has revealed his preferred landing spot at the AFL draft in November.

TOP draft hopeful Jhye Clark has revealed he’s is torn at the prospect of playing for Geelong or Collingwood as he edges closer to his AFL dream.
Clark, a Queenscliff product and Geelong Falcons midfielder, is expected to be taken early in next month’s NAB AFL Draft, with a host of clubs circling.

A Geelong local and a Pies fan, Clark admitted he has watched the trade period closely as the Cats and Collingwood try to move into the top 10 of the draft.

Both clubs are haggling over the price of former first-rounder Ollie Henry, who has requested a trade to Geelong to play alongside brother Jack.

I agree.

But I'm hearing the rumour that Mackie treated them like dirt and Collingwood walked out. They were offered a lower pick and they said that wouldn't do, and Mackie basically said "tough luck" and Pies walked out. Then Wells was recalled to do some damage control evidently. They will be offered #25 and a bag of chips or something, but there's a good chance they won't take it. We apparently can only trade a future 1st rounder with special permission, and the AFL is being tough on that it seems after hearing they stopped the North-Port deal for Horne-Francis
Zero credibility in that I'd suggest. Added to this there's zero chance of Mackie flying solo on these decisions. And SW isn't the only other one involved in list management considerations.

Pure_Ownage. Love your work, but the Ollie matter was never going to be straightforward when our clear priorities regarding Bruhn and Bowes were factored in.

Guthrie is 187... so he is bigger than Clark, Bruhn, Willis, Parfitt, Atkins.

More talking Danger + Blitz as well in the middle.
Even Duncan/Smith are 188 and Touhy 187.

Our older guys have bigger bodies for sure than the up and comers.

A bunch of guys 183 and smaller will definitely be undersized at stoppages + these guys have very little overhead marking ability.
Bruhn, Clark, Parfit, Atkins, Willis.

Stephens is taller but I don't rate him and Knevitt may not even end up a center clearance player.

I won't be shattered by any means if we end up with Clark at pick #8... I'm just wary that height and flexibility could become an issue.
Don’t confuse lack of height with no marking ability, Clark can definitely go forward and be a dangerous option. Watched him
Win a junior GF as an under ager off his own boot playing up forward.

he was on our VFL list this year ...did he play a game?

Id want to see Atkins type enthusiasm before wasting a spot. His talent is being camouflaged by a lethargic fitness level. With his shape he would need to be Tony Locket to get picked.

Even Hawkins has said it took him time ... so the kid could get a chance if he turned it round. For the moment id be looking at one of the 200 plus talls like Scully before him.
He played as older player for the Geelong Falcons, and was injured for a bit.. still finished in the Falcons top 10 in the BnF

All bullshit aside, if Henry put himself on the open market in the ND, didn’t care where he played etc he wouldn’t last to pick 12 IMO, so 12 - 16 and an F2 for pick 7 is laughable? Ohhhk.
If his management told any club thinking of taking him he'd only agree to a one-year contract I'd suggest they'd balk.

My bet is on GW taking 25 which is reasonable for a player who isn't in your best 22 and in fact was supplanted by a mid-season pick.

We simply would not use pick 58 this year, we’ll take 4 picks to the draft if we lose Henry IMO, 16-29 (Grundy compo) and 41, we also have picks 50 and 51.

58 you can use in other deals though such as frampton or mitchell etc.

Fine. My point was it’ll be 25, which is the crux of the deal
Probably a swap of other picks. Some may not be in Collingwood/Geelong’s possession yet. Might need to wait on other deals.
