Wouldn't be against O'Brien if its purely for defensive depth, maybe plays 5 or 6 games in the season, plenty of worse options out there especially if something happens to SDK.
Who was the last player (before Smith) that we took from the Bulldogs? No one immediately comes to mind.
It was just a general question mate. I wasn’t sure if any new information had come to light. All players and all managers always tell the truth ... they should be believed without reservation
The Blues are primed to make the next step, and watching the Pies dramatically improve their already great list 12m ago, with McStay, NS Hill, and Brownlow Mitchell, they are going for appropriate areas of needWe aren't a serious option for Oliver.
As I understand Oliver it had some involvement with the Blues in bygone years.
If I was spitballing, the Dees badly need a forward. McKay would more than fill the bill. Both Oliver and McKay have long-term contracts. Some negotiating regarding those contracts and the Blues adding something might play out.
The Blues then have to sort out a goofball.
By the way, the Blues are very active. According to Shifter Sheehan, already signed two Irish players.

Going to be people eating their words next year. A solid pre season fixes his tank. He definitely has some elite skills for a big bloke, I don't think I've seen a ruckman that good below his knees. His marking is top notch and his tackling and follow up work is great. The only question is can his body take the crash and bash next season. Are you referencing Conway? ... WOW.
Just mentioned on TR .... Delisted Dog ... 29 ... and Geelong have picked up the phone. Probably seem him as KPD backup

I have often compared 3 players in the afl over the past few years to friends.Spud but can play both ends and will cost nothing, provides cover for a couple years with Sav going out.
Sounds like I’ve been drinking my beers wrong all these yearsHave heard with solid mail that he is extremely fond of the nose beers, to the point of it being a genuine problem IN SEASON, as well as other bizarre personal traits involving hygiene and general professionalism. Very strange situation the Dees find themselves in.

Surely it'll take more than one preseason to get his tank up to scratch. Iagree he'll be a star thoughGoing to be people eating their words next year. A solid pre season fixes his tank. But, but that was before a a once-in-a-generation player has appeared on the radar. The cookster said a while ago they would be quiet. Been linked to Holands at GC for a future pick.
I'm sure it wouldn't be easy. They are apparently losing Dow and Fisher who are collectively on more than a mil. And Brian Cook is a past master in convincing players in teams in premiership windows to accept less to get a premiership medal.Surely the Blues salary cap must be tight, even if they let a Harry McKay go
Callum Twomey has us as one of the clubs now weighing up making a play for Oliver.
What clubs need mids like us? Not Carlton, Saints, Bulldogs, Power, Pies, or Tigers. Maybe Swans? To be fair he is just guessing what clubs need midfielders
Clever use of double negative..so I have my head in the sand if I DO think we have a player with those types of off field issues? Well in that case: I don't!People who say we shouldn’t go after Oliver because of his partying off field have there heads in the sand if you don’t think we currently don’t have a player like that.
Of half a dozen of those players when we won 3 flags in 5 years
Every club has them and I know for a fact, we have definitely in the past
Adelaide seem to be the favourite at present. Have the picks, need a mid, and he's got a great relationship with Darren Burgess. What clubs need mids like us? Not Carlton, Saints, Bulldogs, Power, Pies, or Tigers. Maybe Swans?
I'd be stoked with Oliver, but I'm still hoping we're prioritising Smith.Callum Twomey has us as one of the clubs now weighing up making a play for Oliver.

We want a player who can lead the young midfield brigade to another tilt at a flag, not just next year.

I wouldn't go after him because of his $7mil contract, nothing to do with partyingPeople who say we shouldn’t go after Oliver because of his partying off field have there heads in the sand if you don’t think we currently don’t have a player like that.

Id rather give Bailey Van De Heuvel a chance than O'BrienO'Brien provides us with cover for J Henry and Kolo. One has feet issues, the other has concussion issues. No probs with getting him, because we have list spots available, and we don't have enough decent draft picks anyway.
