Haha I think teams will think twice after Tom Mitchell this yearI don't think one dimensional accumulating midfielders are sexy at the moment.
Oh man, now they'll do the oppositeDavid King reckons Port getting Rata will change them into genuine premiership contenders and that pick 24 isn't enough. Port need to change their back 6 otherwise nothing changes and won't win a flag, so need to get it done, even if it means they pay overs.
Honest to God I would have been to more Primus coached Port games than nearly all the people on your board and I have never heard as much pessimism as there is now amongst Port fans. It's just mind blowingWe could trade in the All-Australian team and as long as Hinkley is still coaching we wouldn't be a genuine contender lol
I think he is a chance but maybe 30%Looking at Sanders from a stat's perspective ... 9 games, 30.6 disposals, 7 clearances. I don't think he's a chance of falling to us at pick 7.

King is a Bell end
Jesus H Christ that long?Next Wednesday night
Oh dear god. Thanks Two Planks.Next Wednesday night
I want to give Neale games 100% but we will have to some how play Hawkins, Cameron and Neale at the same time... Which I'm not sure if we will...Neale needs games. It's time to roll the dice on him
He's pushing the case for us to get a more than pick 24 so I'm all for it.

Nope, there has never been damage done going too hard in this context. Look at other clubs… some have reputations - and yet they still get deals done. The majority on here seem to think 24 is fair. I get trying to do the best for the club but it's rare that supporters agree on the value of a player, usually Port would offer 30-40, their board would think that's fair, we'd argue for early 20s and the true value probably sits somewhere in the middle. The fact we think 24 is fair suggests it probably more than fair.
I know Wells has copped some criticism for going too soft with trades in the past but people do hold grudges and I know clubs and agents liked working with Geelong and it meant a few other things went our way. I think there can be damage done from pushing too hard.
I hear you, it is transactional but damage can be done, agree to disagree. Player managers have behaved favourably towards Geelong because they have been easy to deal with both in terms of not pushing for more cash or supporting players in coming to Geelong.Nope, there has never been damage done going too hard in this context. Look at other clubs… some have reputations - and yet they still get deals done.
Each draft is a new coin toss. Other teams will still deal with us next year as it is a transactional trading process. It is not about credit in the bank (the way Wells tried to do) or a Dodoro reputation.
I wish I did. As CS and Clarko said, tall KB 's are rare , not replaceable via the draft, and in this shallow draft, 24 could be worthless. Sav & McKay) are worth more than a hopeful 24. But time will tell.FWIW I also think 24 is sufficient
Why so, jfi? He'll improve more now Jenkins not there imo
And sorry, to clarify, I think we gave too much under Wells, there were times we should have been firmer but there's a balance.Nope, there has never been damage done going too hard in this context. Look at other clubs… some have reputations - and yet they still get deals done.

It is not about credit in the bank (the way Wells tried to do) or a Dodoro reputation, it is about getting the players your club needs. We’ve tried it the nice way in the past. And we’ve let players go for nothing. And karma has not come back to us from those clubs. A nice guy reputation when trading just means you get exploited, but they buy you a beer afterwards.

Agreed, Jenkins doesn’t seem like someone I’d want to have an influence on other people.Gut feel ..
Spoke to him at a function on GF22 evening - personality of a wet lettuce plus showed zero enthusiasm about GF day - strange chapAgreed, Jenkins doesn’t seem like someone I’d want to have an influence on other people.

Marty Hore... have said him before..We badly need another up and coming smaller defender with skills. Bews is nearer the end than the beginning and Bowes will spend more time mid-field next year you would think.
Back in his Adelaide days, rumour is post training he was a regular of the KFC drive thru, and picked up a 6 pack of CC's to go with it.Agreed, Jenkins doesn’t seem like someone I’d want to have an influence on other people.
