Do we really want to support a club that becomes known for treating it's players that way? Player is OOC and has requested a move to another club. It cuts both ways and it's all part of the merry go round system that is player trading.

And if players at other clubs see us hold out and force a player to the draft then good luck in retaining the "destination club" title that we currently have.

This is not going to stop us attracting players.

And yes i would let sav walk if 25 if is the offer.

After the Soldo deal Port will use pick 50 for Sweet. So they literally have nothing left to give except 25 now. They are calling out bluff and gonna say 25 or we use that pick go get him in the National Draft.

Unless a 3rd party gets invoked, I can’t see any other options.

It was reported in the media (can't remember the journo) that we are keen on Sanders at 8 and if he's gone then we're a real chance to split our pick. So the pick 8 for 15 & 18 might be done on the night.

8 for 15+18 would be a very poor outcome.

I very much doubt that Geelong have told the media our plan. What's stopping North Melbourne from drafting Sanders earlier knowing then can grab pick 8 off us for another high end prospect.

The AFL proposed changing this so that you could trade a future 4th (but not 2nd or 3rd) along with a future 1st. I hadn't read confirmation it had been changed, but assume it has.

You're probably right in that regard.

But people are complaining that pick 25 is worthless, and he's at least shown he is a competent AFL player.

Everyone here saying 25 is worthless so we might as well let him go to the draft. Then they throw in pick 76 and that becomes good enough.
